049: Julie McKnight on Diamond Life, Finally & Collaborating with Vocalists

Back a few moons ago, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Julie McKnight at Reminisce Festival in St. Helens to explore the story of some hit tracks including 'Diamond Life' and 'Finally'. In the episode, we also chat about how producers can better collaborate with vocalists and what to do if you've found a vocalist who you would like to work with.

Nugget // Your Artist Style with Asquith

Nugget // Your Artist Style with Asquith

Back in March 2019, we sat down with Lobster Theremin head honcho, DJ and Artist Asquith to explore his thoughts on style, approaching labels and careers in the industry. In this nugget from episode 11, Asquith talks about his thoughts on making music and finding your style as an artist. I personally love his take on hating your own music in this episode.

If you love this nugget and are yet to listen to the full episode, make sure to subscribe and head back to episode 11 to listen.

047: UMEK on Building A Scene

While we recognise some producers to be pioneers of sounds and genres there are some producers who are pioneers and leaders in different ways. As a pivotal figure in bringing the dance music we know and love into his country, Slovenia - UMEK is one of those.

In this short but jam-packed conversation from Creamfields 2019, we talk about exactly that, UMEK's experience of building a scene and his advice to artists.

046: Paul Nolan on Artist Development, Creativity and Community

With so much hype around his first episode and with him being a fountain of dance music wisdom, we asked Paul Nolan to return to the podcast for another episode over a year on.

In today's episode, we dive further into Artist Development along with some nuggets on Community and Creativity. There's so much to unpack from this episode so I'd definitely recommend to re-listen to it to maximise the value and insight that Paul passes on.

Brilliant Podcast

Awesome podcast with a very competent interview and a diverse selection of guests. I love how consistent the podcast is and I think that is key to a building loyalty with listeners. I found this initially by accident when my other go to podcasts weren’t putting out enough material and I needed my fix of inspiration and wisdom. Keep doing what you are doing it is very valuable!
