Episode Notes:
Here’s the main idea: Being part of meetings does not need to be miserable, but leading a meeting is a skill.

The flow covered in today’s show:

Prepare before the meetings. This includes an agenda, start times, and goal of the meeting.

Facilitate the meeting. This includes setting clear ground rules, keeping the meeting on track, and ensuring healthy conversation.

Ensure the meeting ends well. This includes checking in on todos, recapping the meeting, and scheduling the next one if needed.

Bonus thoughts!

Don’t have a meeting if you don’t have to. A meeting is a tool not a mandate.

Not all meetings need to be an hour! If a meeting can be thirty minutes, do it.

If your meeting is longer than one hour, create a half time for people to stretch, move, and use the bathroom.

Analog is best for engagement.

Only invite the people that need to be there
