The Africa Progress Panel consists of ten distinguished individuals, from private and public sectors, who advocate for shared responsibility between African leaders and their international partners, work to ensure African issues remain prominent in global development discussions, and push for the requisite level of support and action for African development. Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations and Nobel Laureate, chairs the Panel and is closely involved in its day-to-day work.

Paul Bodnar is a Managing Director at the RMI, where he helps oversee the institute’s programmes in emerging markets and sustainable finance.
Paul served in the Obama White House as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Energy and Climate Change at the National Security Council. Paul was a key architect of the Obama Administration’s international climate policies.
Eric is a Principal with RMI’s international practice, where he leads the Sustainable Energy for Economic Development work and serves as a key adviser for RMI’s China program. He is an expert in energy strategy development and implementation and product and market design innovation for electric utilities, governments, heavy industry, and corporations.
