Ep 71: Adding More Faith to the Holiday Season
If your Christmas season has become too busy and chaotic, and the focus has swirled around twinkling lights and mounds of presents, then it may be time to refocus your energy into a more faith-based, slow-paced Christmas season.
As a Christian, Joy battles the same struggles to make her kids happy and do ALL of the things during the holidays, as well as balance her need for peace and spiritual connection. It's the time of year that should be overflowing with carols and nativities, but gets overridden with "stuff".
In this episode, Joy talks about embracing the season of Advent, and practical ways to bring that into the Christmas season -- the hope, peace, joy and love. She talks about practical ways to connect with the sacred to bring the focus back to faith in Jesus. She then explores how our culture is hyper-secular, and how other cultures around the world focus more on small gift-giving traditions and bigger family and spiritual practices.
Let's dive into changing our holidays to support us, lessen our chaos and bring our focus back to our faith.
Check back on Sundays through Advent for weekly meditations on hope, peace, joy and love to help support you through this season.

Ep 70: Learning to Co-Parent as a People Pleaser with guest Mikki Gardner
Are you too eager to fix a problem ..... even if it's not yours to fix? Do you say "sorry" for things you had nothing to do with? Or feel responsible for something out of your control? Well, welcome to the club.
As moms, we often feel like it's our job to do more, fix more, say "yes" to more, and we end up trying to "keep the peace" at the expense of our personal peace. It's a lie to not speak up or find our voice in our co-parenting relationships.
But you can take the power back. You can learn to be flexible for the needs of your children, but allow your co-parent to do his part as a parent, not relying on you to be amenable at the detriment of yourself.
Our guest, Mikki Gardner, is a life and conscious parent coach who helps women co-parent with more confidence. Her approach allows you to protect your well-being and be flexible. It allows you to speak up, hold boundaries, and create calm. It's time to reclaim your freedom and become a "recovering" people-pleasing co-parent.
In this episode, Mikki dives into the lie of people-pleasing and her framework to create calm from the chaos. She talks about her 3 step approach and how you can work through them to find your own freedom -- awareness, agency and aligned action.
Listen in for co-parenting tools to support you in your post-divorce journey.

Ep 69: How to Stop Feeling Inferior to Your Ex
Are you always feeling "less than" when you see his social media posts or hear about his trips or great life?
Do you feel resentful when the kids come home from Dad's house with great stories of fun activities and amazing trips they did?
It can be difficult to hear the comparisons between you and your ex. And sometimes it may make you feel inferior. But you can take the control back by switching your perspective. You can shift how you think, how you respond, and find peace with the differences in your lives.
You can have peace from the drama and create a life you love after divorce. It takes some healing and some work, but YOU GET TO DECIDE.
This episode of the podcast walks you through 3 steps to help you on your way to ditching the comparison trap and feeling inferior, to standing in your own power and allowing you to move forward to your best life.
Let's dive into accepting the differences, even celebrating the differences, and being content and happy with the life we are creating.

Ep 68: How to Create Whole Health Balance for the Family with guest Clair White
Do you and the kids always feel frazzled and out of balance? If so, you're in the right place!
This week's guest is parent coach Clair White, who is helping us find whole health balance in 5 areas of our lives. Since it's not just us moms who get stressed and overwhelmed, this is a family plan for health that balances emotional, mental, physical, relational and spiritual health.
This is a great plan to learn and put into place for ourselves. We can also role model it too for our kids so they can make good decisions for their health. It's a practice to start early and continue through our lives.
As we are coming into full-swing busy and holiday season it's a great time to put healthy routines into our everyday life.
