    Murf the Surf

    Murf the Surf

Yesterday I had my experiences with Jack – Murf the Surf – Murphy recorded for use in a four-part documentary being put together by Ron Howard and his Imagine film making company. The interviewer who was one of the co-producers had scheduled it for one hour, but it ended up being three and a half . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2021/10/murf-the-surf/

No need for electricity or light bulbs

A friend sent me the following beautiful photo that he took in Louisiana on a fishing trip for redfish. As I viewed the photo I couldn’t tell if the sun was rising or setting . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2021/10/no-need-for-electricity-or-light-bulbs/

    I can’t stop

    I can’t stop

I received an email from a longtime reader last week and it is as follows: I hope you don’t mind, but I have a question for you regarding sin and forgiveness. I know I am forgiven of my sin by GOD’s Grace, through the blood of Christ . . . And I know we all sin, even after we have been forgiven . . . and that we should try as hard as possible NOT to sin . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2021/10/i-cant-stop/

    Are Apostle Paul’s thoughts irrelevant?

    Are Apostle Paul’s thoughts irrelevant?

I received some correspondence about yesterday’s post and found one letter from a longtime reader and Christian brother. It is as follows: First, my reply/question is not about the rapture. I believe it and hope. My question is about Paul’s statement in 2 Timothy 3:16. When Paul wrote that verse wasn’t Scripture considered to be the first 5 books of the Old Testament, or conceivably the Old Testament in its entirety? . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2021/10/are-apostle-pauls-thoughts-irrelevant/

    Who/what you gonna believe?

    Who/what you gonna believe?

I got an interesting letter the other day from a longtime reader. The gist is as follows: “There is no rapture . . . Darby and Scofield have it wrong . . . I am in good company . . . the list is long so I will be brief . . . others that follow my belief include Matthew Henry, John Gill, Charles Spurgeon, Alfred Barnes, Adam Clarke, Martin Luther, etc. The spirit of this world has corrupted the word of God.” . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2021/10/who-what-you-gonna-believe/

    Killer barnacles

    Killer barnacles

Yesterday I had surgery on my back for a malignant skin cancer and if that wasn’t bad enough, he found two more places on my face that he biopsied of which he said he is “deeply concerned“. That is in addition to the 20 some odd places he burned off my arms, back, face, and neck, with liquid nitrogen. My skin is a mess and there are more potential killer barnacles on it now than ever. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if skin cancer takes me out. I’ve already had a melanoma and several other forms of aggressive skin cancer . . . https://www.wordsfortheday.com/index.php/2021/10/killer-barnacles/
