In late spring 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic appears to be waning (with some notable exceptions in the world). The spread of the virus has seen surged and retreated several times over the past 14 months. At the beginning of the worst spike in the U.S. during the fall and winter, Lansing journalist Carrie Steinweg caught the disease. Too often the pandemic was reduced to numbers or to telling the stories of those who died. This is the story of a local woman who lived, and she shares with us what the experience was like.
