There’s no decimal place in football

Jimbo welcomes back Michael Cox, Duncan Alexander and Dom Fifield ahead of a weekend fixture list packed full of potential drama.

Chelsea breeze past Spurs in the Carabao Cup semi-final. Now they travel to the Etihad, needing a win against Man City to keep the title race alive. So with a point probably being a great result, how will Pep approach this match?

As for Spurs, it’s the North London derby and the first managerial meeting of Antonio Conte and Mikel Arteta. Will we see the all-action Conte on the touchline once again after a few dispiriting performances?

There’s huge controversy at AFCON with the referee at Tunisia v Mali blowing the full-time whistle early. Not once but twice. Maher Mezahi was there and fills us in on the latest goings on at the tournament.

We discuss Newcastle’s Chris Wood, Sierra Leone’s Steven Caulker and Michael Olise – the new Adnan Januzaj?

Plus goal average. How was that ever a thing?

    An assault on the rulebook

No doubting the game of the weekend across the continent as Juventus come from 3-1 down to beat Roma’s side packed full of Englishmen. Remember when Mourinho sides used to be able to defend?

In Spain, Real Madrid’s team of 10 certain starters get back to winning ways. But the social media statements of Valencia and Real Betis criticising referees cast a shadow over La Liga.

Bayern lose at home to Monchengladbach to mark the return of the Bundesliga – the league where no games get postponed.

Monaco are under new management in France while PSG continue to make Jules sigh. Plus Spanish Super Cup, more misery for Shevchenko at Genoa and how Sassuolo will continue to solve Italy’s problems.

    • PART 2: Roma 3-4 Juventus (09m 00s)

    Three small little claps

    Three small little claps

Jimbo, Daniel Storey, Adrian Clarke and Lynsey Hooper review a monumental weekend in the FA Cup and beyond.

Non-league Kidderminster and Boreham Wood are through to round 4 as we have a bit of a moan about TV scheduling. And we enjoy the magic of smashing in a free-kick from 35 yards.

There’s more than a few mentions of Nottingham Forest knocking out Arsenal. And individually there were bad weekends for Butland, Tavares and Ndombele.

Also AFCON gets underway and the biggest shock of the whole weekend comes in the WSL as Birmingham beat Arsenal.

    RUNNING ORDER:

    • PART 1a: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Arsenal (01m 00s)
    • PART 1b: Kidderminster and Boreham Wood through to round 4 (05m 00s)
    • PART 1c: Hull 2-3 Everton (13m 00s)
    • PART 1d: Newcastle 0-1 Cambridge (18m 00s)

    That’s where the devil lives

    That’s where the devil lives

Jimbo welcomes back Duncan Alexander, Charlie Eccleshare and Tom Williams to a cup-heavy Totally Football Show.

Chelsea have one foot in the Carabao Cup final after disposing of Tottenham 2-0 in their semi-final first leg. Did Spurs put in one of the worst first half performances ever?

It’s FA Cup third round weekend. Can Chesterfield summon the spirit of Dyche as they head to Stamford Bridge? Will Hull hammer a nail into Rafa’s coffin as they host Everton?

Maher Mezahi tells you everything you need to know about AFCON. From Cameroonian jazz to bullets in buttocks.

In the Premier League, Ralf Rangnick’s honeymoon at Man United lasted around 20 minutes as he suffers defeat at the hands of Wolves on Monday. And is Philippe Coutinho on his way back to the Premier League?

Elsewhere, phallic formations, Nelson Vivas and Antony Worrall Thompson stealing cheese.

    RUNNING ORDER:

    Magic cupboard

    Magic cupboard

Matt Davies-Adams is in the hot seat for the first Totally Football Show of 2022, alongside Daniel Storey, Dan Bardell and Sasha Goryunov.

Most of the panel were at Stamford Bridge to see Chelsea and Liverpool in a pulsating draw that led both sets of players to believe the title race was over.

Romelu Lukaku wasn’t at Stamford Bridge. We ask what he was trying to achieve with his interview criticising Thomas Tuchel’s tactics.

Man City win at Arsenal in another hugely eventful clash. Does the reaction towards the refereeing decisions again show how officials are mistreated in this country?

Brighton are the envy of most teams in the country right now as they win at Goodison and supporting Everton continues to be a character-building experience.

Plus we praise Brentford’s strength in depth and make some bold predictions for 2022.

    RUNNING ORDER:

    • PART 1: Watford’s AFCON obstructions (03m 00s)
    • PART 2: Chelsea 2-2 Liverpool (05m 30s)
    • PART 3: Arsenal 1-2 Man City (23m 30s)
    • PART 4a: Leeds 3-1 Burnley (35m 00s)
    • PART 4b: Everton 2-3 Brighton (39m 00s)
    • PART 4c: The rest of the Premier League weekend (46m 00s)
    • PART 5: Big predictions for 2022 (62m 00s)

    When the mill shuts

    When the mill shuts

For the final time in 2021, it’s the Totally Football Show with Jimbo joined by Duncan Alexander, Rory Smith and Dom Fifield.

It’s the end of the year and the end of the title race? Liverpool lose at Leicester while broken Chelsea are held by Bissouma’s brilliant Brighton. Is there any shame in finishing second to City?

Ralf Rangnick’s revolution at Man United takes a backward step with some not happy about training at night-time. Plus how bad are Norwich and what’s their beef with Billy Gilmour?

And we look back on the best and worst of 2021. It was the year of fans back in stadiums, the short-lived Super League and sticking Diaz on the end of your name.

    RUNNING ORDER:

    • PART 1: Man City home and dry in the title race? (05m 00s)
    • PART 2: Newcastle 1-1 Man Utd (31m 00s)
    • PART 3: The rest of the weekend Premier League action (41m 00s)
    • PART 4: Looking back on 2021 (51m 00s)
