    #StoryTellingAsResistance 📝🗣💥

This episode features a delightful chat with African-American linguist Jourden Lloyd. This is part of an academic project I’ve got the chance to work on for one of my Civic Engagement classes, with prof. Andrea R. Efthymiou. Jourden and I got the chance to explore how English as a language is able to represent diversity among its native speakers. I chose my podcast as part of this multimedia project because as a fashion writer and freelance journalist involved in social justice, I firmly believe that words have power and significance, either when they are written or used in conversations. Along with my #StoryTellingAsResistance article on my blog, you can find this episode engaging and instructive, with two lovely minds discussing and exchanging stories, narratives, and good vibes. Thanks in advance for listening, and stay tuned for the next episodes as always ☺️✌🏽👩🏽‍💻

Where have I been traveling during COVID-19?

Where have I been traveling during COVID-19?

Lol, nowhere, no trips 😂 the lockdown is real and social distancing has been pretty heavy. However, to feel less lonely and more motivated to push my work out there, I have been “traveling to” a bunch of online platforms that have been providing me solid material on jobs, mental health, fashion, and much more. You can find the two articles I’m discussing in this episode on my website, www.thecurlyflower.com 🌻 Happy listening 😊 and stay tuned for more!

Online community: from Twitter to Tik Tok, and way more!

Hello there! In this episode I will talk about how online communities are important for us, both journalists and creatives. As a reference, I’ve taken my January’s blog post “How can I use Twitter as a fashion journalist, creative, and curly flower?” (thecurlyflower.com), and I’ve added other examples of social media platforms and communities that have worked for me and are helping me navigate the media industry. If you’d like to follow me on Tik Tok, you can add me at @thecurlyflower ✌🏽
