This meditation helps you shift out of the familiar “I’m not enough” story.
Sister Dang Nghiem (also known as Sister D) is a Vietnamese-American Buddhist nun in the Plum Village tradition, ordained by the renowned Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. Before entering monastic life, she trained as a medical doctor in the United States, and that background in medicine and science continues to inform her teaching.
Her path to monasticism was shaped by profound personal loss — including the death of her partner — which led her to deepen her practice and eventually take robes. She is the author of *Mindfulness as Medicine* (2015), which blends her medical knowledge with Buddhist contemplative practice, and *Healing: A Woman's Journey from Doctor to Nun* (2010).
