Matthew Silver is a performance artist in New York City who plays a "village idiot" character, acting as a "clown" and "trickster" in order to parody social norms. He has been in several viral videos in which he performs his antics. Matthews YouTube channel and the content he shares is about shifting the entire planet to love consciousness with sacred clowning. Matthew is a weird psychedelic sacred clown. He is known for his street performing art in New York City at Union Square, Washington Square Park, Astor Cube and Time Square. His two biggest videos are "Words of Wisdom by an Unexpected Citizen" and "Accept Yourself Love Yourself Vine". He has been on Adult Swim, MTV, and Netflix.
Before his performance art appeared online, Silver appeared in an experimental short film called "The Shadow Monster". The earliest recorded instances of his performance art online came on November 30th, 2011, in a video in which he wore a white dress and sang the Neil Diamond song "Sweet Caroline".
