ಸದ್ದಿರದ ಪಸುರುಡೆಯ ಮಲೆನಾಡ ಬನಗಳಲಿ
ಮೊರೆವ ತೊರೆಯೆಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಡಿಸಲೊಂದಿರಲಿ.
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಗಿಳಿ ಗೊರವಂಕ ಕೋಗಿಲೆಗಳಿಂಚರವು
ಕಲೆಯುತಲೆಯಲೆಯಾಗಿ ತೇಲಿ ಬರುತಿರಲಿ.
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಿ ಪಸಲೆಯಲಿ ದನಗಳಂಬಾ ಎಂಬ
ದನಿಯು ದನ ಕಾಯುವನ ಕೊಳಲೊಡನೆ ಬರಲಿ.
ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿರಿಗನ್ನಡದ ಕಬ್ಬಗಳ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳು
ದಿನ ದಿನವು ಸವಿಯೂಟವಿಕ್ಕುತಿರಲೆನಗೆ.
ಬಾಂದಳದಿ ಹಾರಿದರು ಬುವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾರುತಿಹ
ರಸಿಕನಾಗಿಹನೊಬ್ಬ ಗೆಳೆಯನಿರಲೆನಗೆ .
ಬೈಗಾಗೆ ನಮ್ಮೊಡನೆ ಗಳಪಿಯಲೆದಡ್ಡಾಡೆ
ಗೋಪಾಲನಾಗಿರುವ ತಿಮ್ಮನೆನಗಿರಲಿ!
ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಳನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಾನಳಿದು ಮರೆಯಾಗೆ
ನನ್ನಾಸೆ ಏನೆಂದು ಎಲ್ಲರರಿತಿರಲಿ:
ಸಗ್ಗವಿವನೊಳಗೊಂಡಿರಲು ಸಗ್ಗವೆನಗಿರಲಿ;
ನರಕವಿವನೊಳಗೊಂಡಿರಲು ನರಕವಿರಲಿ!
