    Why Do Snapewives Exist?

    Why Do Snapewives Exist?

In this episode, Ben and Mick wade through the gross and baffling phenomenon of Snapeism, a bizarre internet cult where fans believe that the fictional character Severus Snape is a spiritual entity guiding their lives. They also discuss the first trailer for Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis," exploring its ambitious (by which we mean mental) themes and mixed reception. We also react to the teaser trailer no one asked for with "Rings of Power" Season 2, reflecting on its potential and the challenges it faces. Additionally, they examine Netflix's upcoming "Ultraman" adaptation, the season finale of "X-Men 97," and the new HBO Max series "Dune: Prophecy." Amid their lively banter, they revisit memorable moments from "X-Men 97," speculate on its future direction with Age of Apocalypse, and share insights on how fans connect with fictional worlds. The episode ends with a quirky discussion about a strange find in a comic book store, adding their usual humorous touch.

They react to the first images of David Corenswet as Superman, providing their own takes on the new look and the internet’s reactions.
Exciting casting news for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie is also on the agenda, including the addition of John Malkovich to the cast and a twist on the Silver Surfer. The hosts delve into Netflix’s new show "Bodkin," featuring Will Forte as an American podcaster investigating mysterious disappearances in Ireland.

Ballard’s "The Garden of Time," discussing its relevance today, and reflect on Ballard’s impact on speculative fiction and dystopian literature.

How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

In this week's episode, we take a look at the way in which the hopes and fears surrounding the atomic bomb have shaped a good chunk of sci-fi over the last 80 years, from Asimov to Alan Moore. Before we get to that though, there are a host of trailers to react to. We have a bizarre prequel to the lion king in Mufasa, which begs the question; who asked for this to be made. Then Russell Crowe continues his exorcising priest streak with the meta layered The Exorcism trailer. Finally, a week later, and almost certainly too late, we review the new Deadpool and Wolverine trailer, attempting to deconstruct some of the bizarre cameos and easter eggs littered throughout.
That's not all, though. Ben managed to watch The Dead Boy Detectives, the new netflix spinoff for their Sandman universe. It is one of the most frustrating shows with good bones but squandered potential that Ben has ever seen. Then the review of yet another fabulous episode of X-men '97 and a deep dive into its mysterious new villain, Bastion.
To top it all off, we take a look at the influence of the Atomic Bomb on our pop culture. We cover everything from Foundation, to Fallout, to Watchmen and Beyond.
