The global COVID-19 pandemic has exposed a number of weak links within the intensive animal farming industry - namely how conditions for workers in meat plants are contributing to the spread of disease and antibiotic resistance. FAIRR's Teni Ekundare talks to James Ritchie, Assistant General Secretary of the International Union of Food Workers (IUF-UITA-IUL), about the challenges facing employees in factory farming facilities around the world and the role investors can play in helping to create a safer and more sustainable food system for workers and consumers alike.
