The Birdcage (1996): "Put the goddamn pinky DOWN!"

Ah young love! Very, very young love - Val (Dan Futterman) and Barbara (Calista Flockhart) want to get married but, they've got some problems (aside from their ages). Barbara's father (Gene Hackman) is Sen. Keeley, the co-founder of the Coalition for Moral Order and Val's father (Robin Williams), Armand is a gay nightclub owner. When a scandal breaks along with the nuptial news, Mrs Keeley (Diane Wiest) suggests a wedding could distract the masses. Val returns home to construct a deception, starting with sending his mother, the Starina of the club, Albert (Nathan Lane) away. If only Armand can get Val's birth mom, Katherine (Christine Baranski) to come thru and complete the illusion. With the tabloids hot on the trail, emotions are high, the help, Agador (Hank Azaria) is no help and hijinks ensue in The Birdcage, this week on Doom Generation.

Overboard (1987): "You know what your problem is?"

While tooting around on their yacht, the Staytons, Grant (Edward Herrmann) and Joanna (Goldie Hawn) pull into a small coastal town for repairs. After abusing local handyman, Dean Proffitt (Kurt Russell) and peeling out of the bay, Joanna falls off the yacht and is found with amnesia. When her own husband leaves her behind, Dean steps in to exact revenge. He does what any of us would do, takes her his hovel, convinces her she's his wife "Annie" and that she's the mother to not 3 but 4 wild boys (Jared Rushton, Brian Price, Jeffrey Wiseman, Jamie Wild). For three months Grant parties on the high seas, but can't dodge the Boss, mother in law Edith Mintz (Katherine Helmond) forever and he's forced to retrieve Joanna. Will she become Diddums again or has the Stockholm syndrome set in? We're going Overboard this week on Doom Generation.

Sixteen Candles (1984): "They f*cking forgot my birthday."

Today, Samantha Baker (Molly Ringwald) wakes up chronologically 16 but, as she complains to bestie Randy (Liane Curtis), still hopelessly, physically 15. At school she's hounded by horny freshman, Farmer Ted (Anthony Michael Hall) while she pines away for senior dreamboat, Jake Ryan (Michael Schoeffling) with the perfect girlfriend (Haviland Morris). At home, she has to put up with handsy, meddling grandparents who've brought along a foreign exchange student, Long Duk Dong (Gedde Watanabe). To make matters worse, with the excitement of her sister, Ginny's (Blance Baker) wedding tomorrow, her parents (Carlin Glynn, Paul Dooley) fucking forgot her birthday! We're celebrating 40 years of another John Hughes classic, Sixteen Candles, this week on Doom Generation.

Thinking they've been hired for a personal appearance, the actors arrive to a potentially deadly misunderstanding. Ride! Fight! LOVE! ¡Three Amigos! This week on Doom Generation.
