Today on Fable and the Verbivore, we’re sharing our latest book reads conversation — this is part 2 of 2 featuring Fable’s stories!

Over the last few months instead of doing our typical bookclub episodes, we’ve started talking about some of the things we’ve recently read and enjoyed, connected with, or learned from. It’s been a great way to share what we’re consuming and loving lately and finding new recommendations.

In this episode, Fable talks about how she’s needed to cut back some on her reading while making space in her mind to work on multiple writing projects. That said, she still has some recent reads she’s enjoyed including an omegaverse story with great characters set in Australia, a delightful sports romance, an original slow burn fantasy retelling of Snow White, and a sci-fi saga series based on novels from one of Science Fiction’s trailblazers.

We also talk a lot about these stories from a craft perspective and what the authors did that we found interesting. Things like:
- The Scent of Us - An omegaverse story by an Australian author with a diverse cast of well-developed characters and character arcs.
- Right Man, Right Time - A funny and light hockey romance with great dialogue and an age gap main couple.
- Blood & Roses - A unique and interesting slow burn with a dash of spice fantasy novella retelling of Snow White with little nods and homages to the original.
- Foundation (TV Series) - A sweeping science fiction epic based on novels by Isaac Asimov which is told over hundreds of years with an ever-evolving cast, but several mainstay characters. The show serves as a study of large scope storytelling of humanity across time and space.

We hope you enjoy this episode! Keep reading, writing, and putting your voice out there!
