Navigating Mean Girl Culture at Work

Hey lady! This week Dr. Dom and Terri discuss a touchy but necessary subject – how to deal with the office bully, especially when the office bully looks like you. By now we all know that being a mean girl is wack, late, and played out, but it is still a reality for some people in the office. So, how do you, as a grown woman with tools and skills, deal with those sticky, tricky, and often nuanced situations where the mean girl is trying to make you feel a way? Terri and Dr. Dom offer a few scenarios, from their lived and witnessed experiences, of how these experiences play out and how they can seriously impact your wellbeing. The good news is that there are strategies to deal with challenging work situations. So, when the skinfolk at your job are not acting like kinfolk, charge it to the game but keep your eyes open. How, you may ask? Tap in for a few tools for self-reflection and self-assessment so you can be aware of when that energy is coming at you, or when you are the energy that needs to be corrected. Signs That You're The Toxic One in the Relationship | TBT

Lady, when was the last time you took a long hard look in the mirror to examine the negativity you may bring to your relationships? We know that doing so requires hard work and often a level of vulnerability that some of us will readily avoid. In today’s throwback episode, Terri and Dom offer us ways to identify when and why we are the toxic ones in our relationships. They also share some of their toxic ways. Within that sharing, the ladies also provide us with concrete steps to take if we are ready for making a change in our behavior patterns. Be sure to tune in and also scroll below for more information on tips and resources mentioned in this episode.    Quote of the Day: "Your toxicity in your relationships with other people is actually an extension of the toxicity in your relationship to yourself. What you have is not an issue with how you relate to others, but a fundamental trauma that is preventing you from being at ease within yourself. That is what you must address." - Brianna Wiest   Takeaways: Signs it's you: All of your problems are someone else's fault You take more than you give There's so much drama You have a major superiority complex You’re a Debbie Downer You only express love or admiration when you need something. Why We Need to Protect Children’s Peace | MINISODE

Lady! If you’ve noticed by now the unofficial theme for this year is community. How to build it, how to engage with it, and how to be responsible with it. As we continue to expand our understanding of what it means to be in community with others, we have to keep our most vulnerable in mind. That’s right, how are we helping the babies and the young people navigate the world? This week, Dr. Dom and Terri offer a quick glimpse into ways we can help protect children’s peace. Are you being mindful of your conduct when in the presence of children? Studies show that kids are their most observant and absorbent of behavior and energy up to the age of 8 and it is our responsibility as community members to model what it is like to engage in ways that show self-respect and respect for others. Even if they aren’t your babies, they are somebody’s baby and they deserve an opportunity to have their innocence preserved and experience as peaceful a world as possible. Tune in for a few tips on how to walk in the world knowing that there are literally people who look up to you and take their cues from how you move in the world.   Goal Mapping Starter Guide Cultivating H.E.R.
