    #184: Cock Out

Avengers assemble! Sort of. As news broke this morning that Graham Coughlan has left Newport County, Ed and Rhys scrambled to join Jamie in this emergency podcast record.
With little in the way of detail (as usual, say some 1912 Exiles listeners), we try to dissect the decision, the timing, the reasoning, and the who next, while also taking a moment to reflect on the efforts of the man we'll forever be grateful to for getting the club safe last year in trying circumstances.
As always, drop us a line via Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn. Thanks to Tinty & The Bucket Hats for continuing to let us use Discoland as our theme tune.

    #183: A matter of Trust

    #183: A matter of Trust

In the first part of the pod, Jack brings you a newsround covering recent goings-on at 1912 Exiles Towers and at Rodney Parade. We also hear from The Other Three Amigos podcast about how they thought Nathan Wood got on during his recent loan spell at Cork City.
Ed then takes the reins for an interview with the Newport County Supporters' Trust. Nominations are currently open for election to the new Trust Board, so we hear from Colin Everett and Shaun Johnson about their experiences over the last few years with the Trust, asking what skills they think are needed from potential candidates, and what might be the biggest challenges and opportunities for the new Board. Apologies for the fact that some of Shaun's audio is a bit sketchy due to wifi issues - but we're sure you'll agree that the content itself is a good listen. Anyone interested in putting their name forward for election should e-mail elections@ncafctrust.org for further information.
As always, our sticker packs remain on sale; we also plug Rob Santwris' player fund for anyone who wants to contribute a few pennies to help Cocko get the best team possible for next season.
As always, drop us a line via Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn. Thanks to Tinty & The Bucket Hats for continuing to let us use Discoland as our theme tune.

    #182: Newport, not County

    #182: Newport, not County

It's Ed on duty for our first summer special, looking at local football beyond our beloved Newport County, as we try to squeeze the last few drops of football out of the season whilst there are games to watch. It's an episode in three parts, covering (approximate timings):

Newport City FC men's playoff match vs Cefn Cribwr (4mins)Newport United futsal team (16mins)Newport City FC women's cup final vs Pontarddulais (27mins)
We plan to shine a light on a different local men's team next season (and possibly a different women's team too, we'll see). Get in touch if you're involved in a club who's like to be our 'team in focus' for 2024/25 - we're open to offers! But in the meantime, you can follow Newport City men (Twitter / Facebook), Newport City women (Twitter / Facebook) and Newport United (Twitter / Facebook) to see what they get up to next.

    #181: The Raggy Dolls

The big end-of-season special is here! Ian, Rhys & Jamie offer their perspectives on County's 2023/24 season, with Ed keeping order. We cover (approximate timings):

Our summaries of the season (3mins)"Cocko, or Cock-go?!?" (8mins)The retained list (13mins)The best, worst and funniest games of the season (27mins)Player of the season (39mins)Trust matters (43mins)Shoutouts and beefs (47mins)
We mention our end-of-season survey, where you can tell us what you like and don't like about the pod. We also plugged our 1912 Exiles sticker packs, available at a reasonable price.
As always, drop us a line via Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn. Thank you for all the support you've given us this season - and thank you Tinty & The Bucket Hats for continuing to let us use Discoland as our theme tune. We'll be back with some summer special episodes over the coming weeks.

    #180: La Salvezza

    #180: La Salvezza

As County haul themselves over the line after a draining, frustrating but also at times surprising and memorable season, we check in for our final regular episode of 2023/24. We'll have a full end-of-season review and some summer specials in the weeks ahead - but for this one we've got Ian Street's match diary from Bradford (a), and then we chat with Amber Arnie and Nigel Dutson about what they learnt at last Thursday's meeting of the Newport County AFC Supporters' Trust.
In passing we mention that our 1912 Exiles sticker packs remain on sale, should you want to send us a few quid. And we also invite you to give us the lamest reason you've used for leaving a County game early this season. You can get in touch via Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.
Thank you for all the support you've given us this season - and thank you Tinty & The Bucket Hats for continuing to let us use Discoland as our theme tune. What lovely boys.

#179: Feeble, weak and not ourselves

#179: Feeble, weak and not ourselves

Six defeats on the bounce, so it's not the most uplifting episode. In the first half, Jack and Ed discuss the defeat to Tranmere and Cocko's post-match critique. In the second half, we throw it open to your voicenotes and reaction. Many thanks to everyone who sent in contributions.
There's not a lot to cheer the County faithful at the moment - but our 1912 Exiles sticker packs are the best chance you've got. Only a fiver - go on, treat yourself.
As always, you can get in touch via Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn. Thanks as always to Tinty & The Bucket Hats for letting us use Discoland as our theme, and thanks to all of you for listening.
