Sacrificial Unity Works

Our unity that comes from our understanding of the Gospel does more than just display an astonishing community to the world. Our sacrificial unity also works toward fulfilling the mission of the entire Bible. When we live our unity out, we also live out the core of what the Gospel is. We can't fall for the temptation to divide over lesser things. When we unite around Jesus, we will fulfill the mission He began at the formation of the world.

Humility, Unity, and the Gospel

Can we be a church that agrees on absolutely every issue? Nope. And that’s not the point of our community. The Church has always been a people of different backgrounds, stories, and faith journeys. Because of that, we will arrive at different opinions and convictions. So, how do we keep what is primary and humbly live in the messiness of opinions? Today, Paul leads us to find the path that the world is looking for. By centralizing the Gospel as the main thing in life, we can find a way to live in a unique community.

Transformative Gospel Lives and Politics

You will know how deeply one believes in something by the convictions with which they live.  The same is true in the Gospel.  If our lives have been truly changed by the grace and love of God then every area of our life should reflect that change... Even in how we engage in politics.  In Romans 13, Paul shows us how the Gospel should influence how we engage in a government and culture that is often at odds with the heart of God.

Reflecting the Reality of the Gospel

As our identities are renewed by Jesus, we will have new activity coming from our lives. This is Paul's premise as he moves to the end of his letter to the Romans. Romans 12:1-2 becomes a point of application to every part of our lives. If we are being renewed, we will have a spirit of sacrificial worship that pervades our lives. Today, we see what that looks like in real life as we read the marks of a life truly changed.

God's plan from the beginning was to redeem the world through His Son Jesus Christ.  The end has already been foretold.  One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.  We find ourselves in the middle of the story and Paul paints a picture of many nations being grafted into the family.  What does it look like to be a part of God's kingdom purpose plan?
