Wake Up Tri-Counties Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore

Wake Up Tri-Counties Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore

Today on Wake Up Tri-Counties Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore joined us and addressed Wednesday's Kewanee Planning Commission Meeting where the commission voted to approve a permit for a Marijuana Dispensary to go in at the former Broken Chimney location. Wethersfield Superintendent Dr. Andrew Brooks criticized the idea of dispensary being 250 feet from the school. Representatives from Bridgeway also spoke about the dispensary being so close to their treatment center. Mayor Moore addressed these concerns and stated that he supported the dispensary though if most Kewanee residents were to express opposition to the dispensary, the Mayor made it clear that he would vote for what people want as a representative of the people. The Mayor also discussed Monday's Kewanee City Council Meeting.

Unfortunately, misinformation during the pandemic caused some to skip needed immunizations. This has made it a necessity for the Health Department to underline the importance of getting vaccinated. It's urgent for kids to get immunized against Measles, among other illnesses to prevent these illnesses from making a full comeback.
