    Tahiirah Habibi is an esteemed Sommelier, Founder and Executive Director. In 2012, Tahiirah opened the prestigious St.Regis, Bal Harbour. Her career ventured through many leadership roles to include, Micheal’s Genuine. Frustrated with the lack of diversity in the industry, she uses her skills to bridge the intersection of wine and culture. In 2017, she launched Hue Society as a safe space for the community to learn, commune and find resources in one place. She had created a cultural space for the Black community to share their developments and experiences in wine. Tahiirah is the first Black woman to grace the cover of Wine Enthusiast 40 under 40 list and has been featured in Ocean Drive as one of the top 5 female sommeliers, VinePair, Wine Enthusiast, Upscale Magazine, and Imbibe Magazine to name a few.

    Guest Bio:
    Iyeshima started her journey in the food justice movement over 10 years ago as a Green Guerillas Youth Tiller. A Jamaican native, she struggled with the process of assimilation into a new culture. Through farming she found great comfort in her community. Throughout her involvement in the movement, Iyeshima has taught food justice, advocated for universal free school lunch, assisted in the development and sustainment of youth-led organizations, and is now the Project Director of East New York Farms! She is dedicated to integrating youth empowerment and leadership into adult dominated sectors. With a double major in Political Science and Sociology, Iyeshima wishes to combine her passion for food justice and her knowledge of American politics to drive the importance of food in people’s everyday life.

With her daughter Serenity Marie a few years after the loss of her partner/Serenity’s dad and grew the business to gain partnerships with NAMI GA, Spanx/Sara Blakely Foundation, Kid Bop, The Atlanta Hawks and more.     In Season 2, we discussed school choice, however focusing on all things private school from a prospective parents POV. Today, we will continue this conversation, however, from the side of administration within the private school. Given the outcomes of protests, of education & mask mandates during the pandemic, especially in large metropolitan school districts, is private school still worth it? We are diving into private schools enriching culture and community relationships with our guests, Darnetta Forteau (Director of Admissions) and Kellee Murrell (Principal), from St. Philip's School and Community Center in Dallas, TX.
     
    Guest Momologist, Meet Darnetta Forteau, Director of Admissions . After 18 years in retail leadership and training, Darnetta transitioned into non-profit work and has spent the last 5 years as an Admissions Director. New to St. Philips School and Community Center, she works with an array of different families and genuinely enjoys spending her days helping parents make important educational decisions for their children. Her career shift was born out of her desire to be living a more purposeful life and she sees how God opened many doors to allow for that to happen. Darnetta Forteau lives in Dallas, TX with her husband of 17 years, Damion, and their two little girls, Quinn (10) and Margot (9). They love to travel and are big fans of Korean culture.
    Guest Momologist,  Kellee Murrell received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History Education from Clark Atlanta University and a Master’s in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. She began her career in Dallas at Tyler Street Christian Academy as a history teacher then continued her passion to educate children at Richardson West Junior High in Richardson ISD. It was there that Mrs. Murrell’s role in education was expanded, serving as the 7th grade girls basketball coach, 21st Century after-school program coordinator, and AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) campus coordinator and teacher.  Mrs. Murrell, a native New Yorker, is married to Mark Murrell, Deputy Chief of Community Prosecution and Community Courts for the City of Dallas, and has two wonderful children, Eden and Mark Jr., both students of St. Philip’s School and Community Center.

    Child Obesity has been on a steady rise over the last 5 years. Childhood obesity in the Black population in the US has climbed to 22% versus 25.8% in the Latino community.  Today, we have a guest Momologist and mother of 2, Vanessa Rissetto, to discuss obesity and more.
     
    Meet Vanessa Rissetto
    Vanessa received her MS in Marketing at NYU and completed her Dietetic Internship at Mount Sinai Hospital where she worked as a Senior Dietitian for five years. She is certified in Adult Weight Management (Levels I & II) by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her work in private practice also includes treatment of GI disorders, bariatric surgery, weight management, PCOS, and family nutrition. She is mostly interested in helping clients to take an active role in their health journey, any of her clients can tell you she motivates and ensures that they always achieve success. Vanessa was named by Essence magazine as one of the top 5 black nutritionists that will change the way you think about food.
    Vanessa lives in Hoboken NJ with her husband, two kids and their new goldendoodle, Freddie. An exercise junkie she is always up for any class as long as it's after she rides her peloton.

    Guest Momologists: Meet LaTisha Thomas, LCSW-S graduated in 2005 with her Bachelor of Social Work from Texas Woman’s University She then received a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006. She has worked at the Department of Veteran Affairs as a clinical social worker for 13 years. In April of 2019, she opened a private practice called Tomorrow and Beyond PLLC in Desoto, Texas. The mission of the practice is to normalize mental wellness for black and brown families. Her specialty is in assisting individuals process traumatic experiences that hinders them from being their best selves.  She’s a current professor at Texas Christian University where she sees herself as a catalyst to mold future social workers. LaTisha Thomas does all of this in hopes to live out the legacy of her parents and to ensure her four children have the lives they deserve.
    Meet Inger Shaye Colzie is an ADHD Coach and Psychotherapist specializing in making a difference for Black woman executives and entrepreneurs, supporting women through clarity, empowerment and resilience. She has successfully run her practice, Alchemy Coaching & Counseling, as a therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 15 years in spite of being undiagnosed until in her 50s. She offers the benefits of professional expertise with a lifetime of experience.
