#27 Why and How to Travel

#27 Why and How to Travel

Do you love to travel? 2020 certainly hasn't been the best year for it, but if you are like us, you want to get back out there and explore the world.  We cover some of the scientific benefits of traveling such as the fact that traveling can reduce stress and anxiety. We also talk about how cultural exploration leads to being more open-minded and can even boost creativity.  Winnie and I then talk about some of the benefits we felt as well as some of the most powerful and evocative experiences we've had in our own experience.  We just had to mention over-tourism and some of the negative effects of traveling. Despite these negative effects, we still recommend everyone travels, even if locally,, but we firmly believe people need to educate themselves on how to be conscientious and eco-friendly while they globe-trot.  We hope you enjoy the episode, and if nothing else, it might inspire you to get started on that next travel itinerary.

#25 How Acting Can Help You Learn English

#25 How Acting Can Help You Learn English

Winnie's friend Luke is a very talented individual. He is an actor, teacher, interpreter, world traveler, and he owns his own theater school. On top of that, he is very outgoing and has a lot to say to both English learners and people looking to live abroad. We were glad to have him on this episode. He spent many years in Australia and tells us why he wanted to learn English and how he dealt with racism. He also goes into trying to make it as an actor and about what being an interpreter is like. We finish the episode by talking about Luke's theater school, which allows children to learn English through acting and theater. He talks about the philosophy behind his teaching and how students discover a funner way to experience English. Find Luke's school in Taipei: Let’s Play Theatrehttps://www.facebook.com/Luke%E7%88%B8%E7%88%B8Luke%E8%80%81%E5%B8%AB-170446099695237/https://www.facebook.com/Englishletsplay/Check Out VoiceTube Taiwanese Site Global Site Japan Site Get in Touch With UsInstagram: @rtvibesvtFacebook: Ride the VibesFind WinnieInstagram - @winnieyujuliao/@wupwinnieWinnie's Podcast - https://bit.ly/wupppodcFind Steve Twitter - @ThinkinVagabondSteve's Podcast - The Pixel Meditations

    #24 Making New Friends

    #24 Making New Friends

Get off your phone and talk to someone! It's time to take a deep dive into technology and how we socialize in the modern world. This episode covers good ways to open conversations and how to keep a good conversation going. However, technology has had huge impacts on how we socialize and communicate as a whole. One of our big questions was whether or not technology has improved or hurt our social lives. In many ways, we have access to more people and social groups than ever, but maybe we are too reliant on our phones and computers. We cover apps and ways to use social media to improve your social life, and we also discuss the difference between introverts and extroverts. Overall, this episode is an exploration into how we communicate in the 21st century and how we can make friends and new acquaintances in a world that is becoming more and more technological. Check Out VoiceTube Taiwanese Site Global Site Japan Site Get in Touch With UsInstagram: @rtvibesvtFacebook: Ride the VibesFind WinnieInstagram - @winnieyujuliao/@wupwinnieWinnie's Podcast - https://bit.ly/wupppodcFind Steve Twitter - @ThinkinVagabondSteve's Podcast - The Pixel Meditations

#23 What is the Dragon Boat Festival?

Dragon Boat Festival is here! Every year on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, many Asian countries celebrate a holiday that stemmed from Ancient China and the legend of Qu Yuan. While this holiday is famous for dragon boat races, which are held around the world, there is a lot of other traditions associated with this unique holiday. Winnie and I discuss some of the history and culture behind this holiday. We talk about the mythology and legend of Qu Yuan, famous food like sticky rice dumplings, and the reason why people try to balance eggs. On top of that, we also talk about our personal experience celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival, and what we like about it. Read our weekly blogs for more information on each topic! Check Out VoiceTube Taiwanese Site Global Site Japan Site Get in Touch With UsInstagram: @rtvibesvtFacebook: Ride the VibesFind WinnieInstagram - @winnieyujuliao/@wupwinnieWinnie's Podcast - https://bit.ly/wupppodcFind Steve Twitter - @ThinkinVagabondSteve's Podcast - The Pixel Meditations
