Adoption as a Picture of the Gospel
This episode was originally recorded for The Radically Christian Bible Study Podcast hosted by Wes McAdams.
Kyle and Leah open up about the emotional journey of foster care and adoption. They discuss having to surrender their own desires and trust God’s plan for each child. Adoption gave them a deeper understanding of God’s unconditional love for all people. It also showed the redemptive power of God turning broken situations into beautiful stories.
This is a moving episode sharing an intimate adoption journey and the lessons it teaches about God’s redeeming love. -
Spiritual Burnout
Parenting can be deeply rewarding, but also intensely draining. In our efforts to be present and patient with our children, it's easy for our own spiritual reservoirs to run dry, and if that happens, we risk spiritual burnout - that sense of depletion is where we feel disconnected from our deeper purpose. To avoid this, we parents must prioritize our spiritual self-care, whether through meditation, journaling, time in nature, or any practice that reconnects us with God. Doing so grants us the strength, wisdom, and calm needed to maintain harmony in our homes and model spiritual well-being for our children.
Micah Williams, the Preaching Minister at 7th and Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould, AR talks with us about what spiritual burnout may look like, how we can better understand it, and things we can do to battle it. -
Embracing Inclusion: Supporting Individuals with Disabilities and Cultivating Empathy
All church goers are seeking connection with other believers, but sometimes families affected by disability struggle to find their place in a church family. In this episode of the Fam Lab we talk with Daniel Moreno from Joni and Friends about the importance and value of including individuals with disabilities in the Church. We also discuss how we, as parents, can raise children to be empathetic and inclusive to everyone, especially those with special needs.

Empowering Young Hearts: God's Image in Kids
We all share a universal desire—to help our children recognize their place in the divine narrative. However, within Christian communities, it's not always apparent that there are barriers that may unknowingly obstruct a child's spiritual development. In this episode of the Fam Lab, we explore this issue and begin a conversation around equipping parents and our church communities with actionable ideas to guide our children toward a deeper connection with their faith.
