(Please note: Audio was taken from an Instagram live and not recorded in a studio due to Covid-19 restrictions)

26 Years ago, South Africa had its first democratic and non segregated election where an overwhelming majority of its citizen put a mark on their ballot papers and ushered in a new South Africa for all. From there on April became our freedom month to remind us of where we come from and how far we have come.

Our guest today is Mr. Leston Motsepe and we felt that there is no one better to speak to about The Real Meaning of Freedom.

Leston Motsepe is a Communications and Brand Strategist with 15 years’ experience in government communications, brand development, marketing and media, as well as a scholar of Psychology, Politics and International Relations.

In 2019 the Mail and Guardian recognized Leston as one of the Top 200 Young South Africans in the category of Politics and Governance and is also 2019 Apolitical Academy Alumni.

He is passionate about supporting the next generation of leaders and in his spare time, serves as a part-time social preacher and activist, speaker at local and international conferences and involved in mentorship development programmes for young men and correctional centres for juvenile detainees. In his response to providing dignity to township communities, he also supports affordable housing development projects for low-income households.
