Violence against women in Nigeria. (With Kelly‪)‬ Everything Unfiltered

    • 政治

*SENSITIVE TOPIC DISCUSSED* I will not put it lightly, women and children in Nigeria are under attack. Nigerians have normalised and made sexual violence against women a mundane issue, not enough is done when the woman speaks up and the reactions from fellow Nigerians often leave one to question their sanity. A Rape case was brought to light recently against an (used to be) actor who raped a girl since she was 7 years old till now that she’s 14, the man confessed and admitted to the crime after the girl reported him and in the report it was confirmed that there were video evidence of the rape. You’d think they’ll be an outcry but no majority of the people are busy arguing and defending why the actor shouldn’t be condemned, making excuses for his actions and requesting to see the rape video. I am absolute disgusted. Lol no that’s not the end because yesterday a lady was reported missing after she called her friend, sounded scared and the cal was abruptly cut off. The friend know that her friend went for a job posting she saw on Twitter took to Twitter to message the people. Long story short, she was found dead this morning, sexually assaulted and some organs missing (not confirmed yet). These are story we hear daily in Nigeria but most of the time it is dismissed and victims (women) are blamed or tagged because Nigeria does not value the voice of a woman nor pay attention to her. Please take a minute to refresh your mind and take a step back from everything if the news from the past few days have been triggering. Listen to the podcast and follow me on Twitter: hallie_ibz
