    Later in the podcast, Liz sits down for a final interview with special guest, Francisco Estévez Valencia, Director del Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos in Santiago, Chile. In the interview, Francisco talks about the museum and its permanent collection, the history of Chile--from dictatorship back to democracy--and the importance of remembering the past to better the present and the future.

    In this episode, Steph and Francisco talk about Francisco's experiences as a border patrol agent, the reality of violence on both sides of the border, excerpts from the book, dehumanization, empathy, and more.

She also explains some of the factors that influenced her areas of study and discusses with Steph and Marilena past and present race relations in Brazil.
