    • Is that thought serving me?
    •If I could choose a thought that made me feel empowered and excited about what I’m doing for my health, what would it be?
    •How do you feel when you think this thought?

    If the scale could weigh how good you feel with the new habits you’ve been focusing on-what would you weigh?

    If the scale could weigh all of the nourishing foods you’ve been eating- how much would you weigh?

    If the scale could weigh how much longer you’ll have on earth loving your family because you finally prioritized your health-how much would you weigh?

    If the scale could weigh how much love you have in your heart for yourself as you care for yourself with a higher regard- how much would you weigh?

    Do you like those numbers? 

    What do you like or don’t like about the numbers listed?

    What could you do to keep the numbers you like?
    And what could you do to make the numbers you don’t like better?

    When No One is Supporting You

    Often times when we create goals for ourselves, we create them with a sense of expectation for others.
    We assume that the people we love or show up for, will be in our corner cheering us on and helping us get the victory.

    While it’s nice to have support- we can’t make our decisions based on having it or not having it.
    Support is a thought situation.
    There’s times when people may have been giving their all to you- but you didn’t THINK it was helpful enough. (A thought)
    Since support is a thought situation and we have the power to make support what we want it to be- then what if you didn’t need support?

    I want to help you examine your thoughts in this scenario because as women and moms, we support people!
    It’s quite natural for us, actually.

    So because of that we can have an innate desire to also want that support.
    But what if wanting support is keeping you from becoming who you want to be?

    Thought work:

    If I don’t do this, then what?
    Be honest with yourself as you answer this question.
    Lay it all out on the notepad. What happens if you don’t do this? What happens if you don’t get healthy? What happens if you don’t take that new position?

    Be real with yourself about what you want in this life, you raise the stakes!

    What is it going to require of me to do this?
    Don’t be afraid to go here with yourself.
    Once you’re able to see what this will entail, you’re able to position your mind to become that support you’re searching for.

    Choosing to Grow

    Today’s episode is just the push you need to get on fire for what you desire for your life!

    The health, the body, the weight loss, the career, the relationships -ALL OF IT!!

    We ultimately become, who we commit to being.

    Are you going to be the woman who puts herself in the room?
    Are you going to be the woman that doesn’t discredit that urge to TRANSFORM?

    You get to decide.
    You get to choose if you’ll GROW.

    One of my favorite thought leaders Myron Golden often says “All work is good work. It either works for you or on you.”

    I believe that. I’ve seen that in my own life.
    Where I’ve felt I’m not getting the exact result I want, in the time I have given it..
    I see how I was being developed.
    I was learning. I was becoming the person.

    It’s not just the reaching of the weight loss goal that should be celebrated- it’s the journey we ought to let shine!!
    Because it’s doing a good work in you.
    A work that will lead you to different decision making, thus creating different outcomes in your life.

    Sometimes that work can feel long and treacherous.

    Struggling with weight issues since middle school gave me a lot of dieting experience.
    Made me realize diets don’t work,
    But deciding to become the person that takes care of, and loves her body does!!

    It took failure upon failure to lead me to this pure and life-giving revelation.

    Now I get to shorten the amount of time for you to have this realization, because it’s all I teach.

    All work is good work.
    Choosing to grow takes faith and that’s exactly why it’s always GOOD WORK.

    If it’s not working for you- God is doing a work inside of you.

    Never forget that.

    Thought Work:

    Who is SHE?
    Why does she have to BECOME?
    What is at stake if she doesn’t EVOLVE to BECOME this person?

    •Who do you want to be?

    •What do you want to achieve?

    •What are all of the reasons why YOU MUST do this?

    GO DEEPER:
    Unpack all of the reasons why you must do this!

    •Create a journal prompt for every reason.
    Elaborate and peel back the layers of WHY it matters so much to you.

    That’s your push!

    I often talk about the process I went through to learn how to take care of my body, but I rarely talk about what those years of struggle taught me, and how it influenced the way I care for my family.

    I’m today’s episode Getting Healthy & Breaking Generational Curses, I talk about how growing up not knowing how to care for my body impacts  the level of importance of passing down new standards to my children.

    We often hear these types of conversations when people talk about wealth building and relationships, but today I want to shed a light of the importance of passing down wellness, especially in black families.

    It’s time to make wellness common in black households.
    Statistics show that black families have the highest rate of:
    Obesity
    Type-2 Diabetes
    Blood Pressure/Hyper-Tension
    Heart Disease

    Those numbers are only a reflection of what’s not being taught and passed down.
    But I believe we as women & mothers can change course and DECIDE to be the first and the leader in our homes displaying healthy habits to our children and family, and making food choices for our family accordingly.

    Thoughts I want you to explore:

    I can be healthy & nourish my body.

    It’s safe for me to nourish my body and care for myself.

    Thought work:

    I want my family to learn how to_____________.
    I will learn how to do this, so I can teach them.

    The healthier my family is, the ________________
    I’ll feel.

    The one healthy habit I’d like to start modeling for my family is________________.


    Grab a journal and take your time with your answers.
    Get truly present in what you desire in your wellness and in your family’s wellness.

    Edit: In the episode I mentioned Lipitor being for high blood pressure, Lipitor is actually mainly prescribed for high cholesterol. While it may be given to someone suffering with high blood pressure, I wanted to clarify it’s intended purpose.
