The Advance Leadership Podcast is an exploration of all things leadership. To "advance" literally means to accelerate growth or progress. This podcast is fuel for that acceleration. We'll have conversations with top leaders around the country and learn from their areas of specialization. We'll also unpack leadership lessons that Vance is learning as he interacts with churches and organizations all over the country. Vance serves as the VP of Nextgen at The Slingshot Group and has served in a leadership capacity within the church for over 20 years.

Jim Wideman - Creating a Legacy
In this episode, Vance sits down with ministry legend, Jim Wideman, to talk about the legacy we are creating. The decisions we make, and the lives we invest in today, will determine the legacy we will leave behind. Jim shares some practical wisdom on how we should all be living and leading now, so that we can be proud of our kingdom impact and legacy tomorrow.
Throughout his years of ministry investing in countless children, families, and leaders around the globe; Jim’s influence and intentionality has been continuously acknowledged. In the 1980s, The International Network of Children’s Ministers (INCM) awarded him their Ministry of Excellence Award. In the 1990s, Children’s Ministry magazine named him one of the Top 10 Pioneers of the Decade. In 2010, Children’s Ministry magazine once again honored him by naming him one of the Top 20 Influencers in Children’s Ministry. And in 2012, INCM presented Jim with their first-ever Legacy Award for his lifetime achievement in children’s ministry.
