Avec is a architect led design-build firm located in downtown Ames, IA. Avec believes that there is a way to do architecture that brings together designers and contractors collaborating with the client to deliver a built project, a process that energizes and empowers the design team, the construction team, and ultimately the owner. Avec is French for “with”, meaning that we want to work alongside every entity involved in a project, as a team, with each other, working for the same end goal.
Explore the multifaceted nature of the building process through the eyes of architects, designers, and contractors. Interviews and discussions with tradespeople in the industry make up the bulk of this content with an emphasis on providing a service to all who are interested in how buildings come together both on the residential and commercial level. Listeners can expect to gain unique insight from experts on a variety of topics as we explore the complex organism that is the built environment.
