Supernaturally Connected to the Prayers of Jesus

Supernaturally Connected to the Prayers of Jesus

In his sermon, “Supernaturally Connected to the Prayers of Jesus,” Pastor Carl highlights the critical need to cherish and maintain our relationship with God. Drawing from John 17, he compares our sometimes casual approach to faith with people on “Antiques Roadshow” who fail to recognize the value of their treasures. Pastor Carl explains, “We have this relationship with God that we sometimes take for granted. And not only do we not recognize how valuable it is, but we also don’t protect it like it is valuable.”

Focusing on John 17:20-22, where Jesus prays for future believers to be unified as He is with the Father, Pastor Carl stresses the importance of this unity. Jesus’ prayer, “I’m not asking on behalf of these alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word,” underscores the collective nature of faith, calling for deep spiritual connection among believers and with God.

Pastor Carl warns against the enemy’s attempts to sever this connection and emphasizes that Jesus’ intercession is our direct link to God. He refutes the need for intermediaries, asserting, “I don’t need to pray for somebody to pray for Jesus, to pray for me… I just go straight to Jesus.”

In the end, Pastor Carl urges us to be proactive in our faith, valuing our relationship with God and sharing it openly. “We are supernatural agents of God’s grace to the world,” he says, encouraging us  to live out their faith dynamically, reflecting God’s love and unity in our  lives and communities.

As you meditate on this message this week, consider the following,

Reflect on the Value of Your Spiritual Relationship:

    * Meditation Question: How am I actively valuing and nurturing my relationship with God on a daily basis?

    * Contemplation: Consider the ways in which you might be taking your relationship with God for granted. Reflect on specific actions or practices you can incorporate into your routine to deepen this relationship and treat it as the precious gift that it is.

    Cultivating Unity in Faith Communities:

    * Meditation Question: In what ways can I contribute to building and sustaining unity within my church or faith community?

    * Contemplation: Think about your role in fostering unity among believers. Reflect on your interactions, your willingness to serve, and your efforts to bridge gaps. Consider how your actions can help reflect the unity Jesus prayed for in John 17.

Embodying God’s Grace in Daily Life:

    * Meditation Question: How can I be a more effective agent of God’s grace and love in my interactions with others?

    * Contemplation: Reflect on how you can live out your faith more visibly and authentically in your daily life. Think about opportunities where you can show grace, compassion, and love, mirroring the way Jesus connects us to the Father. Contemplate specific situations where you can let your light shine and influence those around you positively.

    The Kingdom of Light

    The Kingdom of Light

In the sermon delivered by Pastor Carl, you are invited to explore the profound liberation that the gospel offers. Imagine yourself trying to pull a heavy load, unaware that there’s a simpler, lighter way. This imagery reflects how you might carry unnecessary burdens—whether they stem from guilt, shame, or societal expectations.

Pastor Carl emphasizes that the gospel of Jesus Christ sets you free from these burdens. This freedom is not a distant, abstract promise but a tangible, transformative reality you can experience now. Through Christ’s sacrificial love and grace, you are liberated from the bondage of sin and the relentless pursuit of self-righteousness.

Consider Galatians 5:1, where Paul declares, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” This verse highlights that your freedom in Christ should be firm and unwavering, not dependent on your own efforts.

You are challenged to reflect on what holds you captive—whether it’s fear, past mistakes, or societal pressures—and to embrace the freedom Christ offers. This freedom transforms your identity and purpose, allowing you to live fully and joyfully in God’s grace.

As you ponder these truths, you are encouraged to lay your burdens at the foot of the cross, trusting in the sufficiency of Christ’s work. Walk in the freedom He has already secured for you. This is the essence of the gospel: not just a promise for the future, but a vibrant, liberating force in your life today.

    Alive to Make Disciples

    Alive to Make Disciples

Teaching from the last words of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, Pastor Carl taught today the central doctrine of Jesus being God, and His command to us to make disciples. From the beginning of church history, we see that it was recognized that Jesus is God. When He returned after His resurrection He told that He had all authority and He chose to use it to bring more people into the Kingdom of God.

The world wars against the hope we have in Jesus. It desperately wants us to buy into the notion that we are all doomed. But we have a hope that only comes through faith in God. The disciples walked with Jesus for three years. They knew He was a good teacher. They knew that He had the words of life. But they did not worship until after the resurrection.

Then, they gave their lives, traveling the world spreading the Good News to whoever would listen. Many even gave their lives for this cause.

We are not under the threat of persecution for our witness, but we are no less harassed by the enemy in an effort to stop our efforts to spread the Kingdom in our sphere of influence.

As a members of Revival Life Church, we are alive in south Florida to make disciples by calling people to connect, serve, and worship God.

As you meditate on this message this week, think about the authority you operate in when you share the message of Jesus.

Who in your life do you need to pray for? Set a time each day to pray for the people in your life that are away from God.

Make a plan to let the people in your life know that you are a follower of Jesus and you follow His voice.

    We Gather to Worship

    We Gather to Worship

This Sunday, we continued our Supernatural Connection message series by talking about our call to worship God.

Wen we sing our worship to God we connect with each other and the collective faith in the room. We join with all of heaven in declaring that our God is the God of heaven and earth. The world may have troubles chasing after its gods, be we worship the Lord God almighty.

But we worship Him more than just in song.

When we take part in the preached word we encounter God the Spirit as He moves in the room. When we lean in and connect with the message we are worshiping God by honoring His word.

And when we share Holy Communion, we worship God by sitting at His table.

This week as you meditate on this message, make time to worship God in all the ways He has given us.

    Worship

    Worship

This Sunday Pastor Carl talked about why we worship. We sing because we know who to thank. It is the revelation the Jesus is Lord that brings salvation and connects us to the creator of the universe. We have a God who is active in our lives and is worthy of praise. We sing as a way of connecting with God and recognizing that He is good.

We sing to live in the truth when all the signs point to a lie. The truth is that God is good and He has good plans for our lives. When the whole world looks dark we praise so we can inhabit the last where Jesus is king and our hope returns. When we are hopeless, having no plan and no power to change our circumstances, worshiping God connects us to the God who has a plan and all the power to see it come to pass.

We sing to make the power of the future present in our lives. Through worship we inhabit the better future that God has for us.

While you live your life this week think about the following:

How can you chose to spend more time worshiping God this week? Maybe while doing household chores or commuting?

When you get down, choose to worship instead of meditating on what might go wrong.

Take a look at the people in your life. Do they worship God or are they living without a higher purpose? Pray that you would have an opportunity to share with our reason to be thankful.

    The Pattern of God’s Presence

    The Pattern of God’s Presence

This Pentecost Sunday Pastor Carl taught on The Pattern of God’s Presence. Throughout history, God has revealed Himself to people in a way that brings worship. True worship is the difference between soulish and spiritual Christianity. Soulish Christianity is popular, makes people feel good, but lacks the ability to bring transformation. Jesus said worship much be in Spirit and truth.

God instructed Moses to build a tent of meeting in response to his desire to worship God. He built the tent, sanctified it, and the glory of God settled in the tent. This is the pattern that is repeated throughout the Bible. First people desire to serve God. They build a place for God in the world. They make a sacrifice. Then God’s presence becomes a witness to the world.

This is what happened when Solomon built the temple. And it’s what happened on the day of Pentecost. But in this new covenant we the church are the temple of God. God responds to our desire to serve Him and our efforts to build a place for Him. We sacrifice our lives to be with Him and He fills us with His presence in a way that the world can see.

At the end of service we made time for God to move and we had  a supernatural time connecting with God.

As you meditate on this message this week consider the following:

Are there areas of your life God is wanting you to surrender?

Have you gotten caught up in “project me” and forgotten that Jesus is the center of life for Christians? Spend disciplined time focusing on God and His desire for the world.

Allow Holy Spirit to move through you by sharing the hope you have in Jesus with someone away from God this week.
