SoMoCast | Are digital subscriptions a good business model? | Miran Pavić | Season 2 | Episode 1 SoMoCast by SoMo Borac

    • Marketing

Is the market ready for digital subscriptions? In the first episode of the second season of SoMoCast, our host, Nikola, is joined by Miran Pavić, Telegram CEO, one of HUDI founders, and the Chairperson of the Media jury panel for SoMo Borac. Together, they discussed the market's readiness for digital subscriptions.
The concept of digital subscriptions began to emerge as the internet gained popularity. With online advertising revenues alone proving insufficient to sustain many media organizations, some newspapers and magazines started introducing paywalls for premium content. However, creating a sustainable and successful subscription model is not an easy task.
Miran discussed the key factors behind a successful transition to digital subscriptions, which range from reorganizing entire departments to conducting in-depth content analysis and profiling fans to determine what resonates with them. Spoiler alert: it's political scandals that drive the most acquisitions!
