Ancestral healing. Embracing the wisdom and healing the wounds of our ancestors‪.‬ Becoming whole again- overcoming adversity and turning pain into power

    • Self-Improvement

“We either carry our ancestors on our backs or stand on their shoulders.” Maya Tiwari

It is now scientifically proven that if your grandmother went through a trauma in her life, it’s encoded in your DNA. We carry the pain, the joys and wisdom of our ancestors through the crystalline waters of the womb of our mother which came from her mother.

When we look at the stories of our ancestors and where we come from, we are able to move forward. Ancestral medicine enhances not only our lives but the lives of family members, our children and future generations. We heal our family and our community as well.

As we transmute the trauma and pain of our ancestors, we are able to have more empathy, more compassion and a higher level of understanding of the people around us because the illusion of separation falls away.

I had the opportunity to dive deeper into this topic this week with my friend Heather Royal.

Heather is inspired by her Mohawk/Kanien'kehá:ka family & ancestors, the Bear Clan, the medicine keepers and her Celtic grandfather who taught her to follow the rainbow.

Her love of homeopathy, art and shamanism all directly tie to the deep connection and reverence she has to the natural world.

Over many years, she weaves together these experiences shared and gifted to her from indigenous traditions and from her career as an educator, artist and homeopath.
