The Wild Woman Archetype with Sahiba Singh

The Wild Woman Archetype with Sahiba Singh

On this episode we had Sahiba Singh on to talk about the Wild Woman Archetype. The conversation was based on the book Women Who Run with the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype by author and poet Clarissa Pinkola. Sahiba elaborated on the archetype and also gave us a perspective on why we need to awake the Wild Woman within us. The conversation was largely about the role of masculine and feminine energies that we embody.

Based on the archetype of the Wild Woman, Sahiba has created a dance theatre production at her studio (Flux, Bangalore) titled 'Wild Woman Witchcraft' that shows the wild woman archetype in intuitive and visceral ways. 9 witches meet each other after a long time to cook soup together, using a secret recipe that goes beyond the realm of our mundane lives. The production explores what it means to be a wild woman in a world which is designed to make the wild spirit of the feminine forever apologetic. This is a story of courage and grace. Resilience and strength. Intuition and wisdom. This is a story of the ageless knowing. A story of those who ‘know’ and those who can see the unseen, bringing forth wisdom, freedom and sovereignty for themselves. This they do with utmost kindness and softness of character. This is truly the story of the feminine in its glory.

This episode was a look at the thought process behind this production.
