    MV019 Dirty Versachi

    Bio
Naarm / Melbourne-based DJ, producer and singer, Dirty Versachi is an alien creature assimilating on their new planet by channelling feelings of isolation into innovative new art. Teaming up with co-producer Andrew Huhtanen McEwan (Huntly), mixing engineer Tim Watt (MUTO, Golden Features) and mastering engineer Klaus Hill (PNAU, Ministry Of Sound) to sculpt the DirtyVersachi sound. Although they are the new kid on the block, since their launch in May 2021, they have made waves within the Australian music industry achieving support from triple j, MTV Upload and Spotify editorial playlists (Just chill, New Dance Beats, New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, Sunday Sessions, to name a few). They have also achieved media support from KALTBLUT, Stoney Roads, Pilerats, To Be magazine, Life Without Andy, Like Velvet, Acid Stag and Musicfeeds.

Dirty Versachiʼs live performances are an enigmatic experience, as they perform as an alien drag queen who embodies superstar energy. Their set is a combination of DJing, singing live and choreographed movements with backup dancers. In March 2021 Dirty Versachi had 4 performances at Mardi Gras which included two Heaps Gay parties, a performance at The Bearded Tit and an appearance at Barbaʼs club night. By owning their fem, non-binary energy, they are working to inspire a shift in the music industry to celebrate and support queer artists. They believe in using the power of fantasy and self-expression to create healing and bring people together as a community.

With their current release ‘Fantasy Control’ and their forthcoming single ‘Pumped Up Like A Pony’ set to be release at the end of May, Dirty Versachi has moved their sound into a dance club era with a DJ mix curated for Music Victoria to showcase inspiration of soundscapes they gravitate towards.

    MV018 Cara Murphy

Cara has become a staple in Melbourne's dynamic House Music scene, having immersed herself in its pulsating beats for over 15 years. Her journey began in the vibey corners of local spots like Q Bar, 161, and Saratoga, where she first fell head over heels for Classic House. Not one to stay in her comfort zone, Cara soon found herself at events like Sunny, where her musical horizons broadened, sparking a passion for Progressive/Melodic House and Techno.

The lockdown of 2021 rekindled Cara's interest in DJing, a craft she had toyed with back in the early 2000s. She burst back onto the scene in May 2021, playing her first club gig since her hiatus. Since then, she's been a whirlwind of activity, quickly becoming a regular fixture in the buzzing Chapel Street circuit. Her talent has secured her weekly residencies at some of the area's most esteemed clubs, such as Onesixone (on Thursdays and Saturdays), Pawn & Co, and The Social.

Cara's career has been studded with impressive milestones:
    - She's had the thrill of supporting renowned artists like Anthony Pappa, Low Steppa, MANDY, Lo'99, Luuk Van Dijk, Monkey Safari, and Angelo Ferreri.
    - Her talents shone brightly at DiscoBOX, where she played for both the Defected and Glitterbox 2022 AU tours.
    - In 2023, she represented Australian talent on the global stage at the Amsterdam Dance Event, dazzling the crowd with her signature mixes.
    - A testament to her popularity and skill, Cara was voted as the Best DJ in Music Victoria's public vote in 2023.

Cara's journey reflects not just her personal growth but also the evolving landscape of Melbourne's contemporary music scene.

    MV017 Caity Watsøn

A Caity Watsøn set maintains a meticulous progression that skilfully balances her signature blend of intense kicks and dark grooves with hypnotic/hyper lyrics and utter silliness to keep her crowd energised and surprised. From dark and hypnotic techno, to hard industrial techno, to hard dance, and even house and disco, Caity's sound shines through consistently no matter what genre she covers.

Grateful for Naarm’s thriving music scene, Caity has had the honour of playing at iconic Melbourne venues such as Revolver Upstairs, My Aeon, Rubix Warehouse, KISS FM, Area3000 & Melbourne Pavilion, as well as guest spots for Music Victoria, Anomalie Collective, Proponent Records and more. In 2023, Caity was signed as a resident artist for Track08 and was nominated for Best DJ at the Music Victoria Awards 2023.

Caity draws inspiration from labels such as KD Raw, HATE, Filth on Acid & OBSCUUR Records, and from producers such as Caravel, Brutalismus 3000, Mark Greene, Part Time Killer, Hanubis, Flug, Svarog & Nørbak. Her musical influences extend beyond the electronic realm, finding inspiration in metal, doom, grunge, alt rock, disco & funk genres.

A manifestation of her years of passion for connecting like-minded people & building a community, Caity is also the founder of Naarm techno collective '150 BPM', which focuses on monthly parties showcasing raw, hypnotic and hard techno genres. ‘150 BPM’ is a mindset – aiming to push artists to play what they thought they could never get away with.

    MV016 Rakhi

    MV016 Rakhi

Rakhi has become notorious for her sexy, energy-building sets across Naarm. An expression of her unique style and identity, her sound is rhythmic, melodic, and bass-heavy, merging the genres she loves to get your hips swinging. With expansive selections, she brings her feminine, fairy-like touch to hard drums, breaks and basslines. Rakhi’s own productions combine her love of rhythm and big bass with emotional soundscapes, vocals and instrumentation. While you may have seen Rakhi throw down heat at one of Naarm’s parties, you’re just as likely to have heard the softer side of her sound at a northside bar or beer garden. Having quickly become a staple in the local electronic music scene, it is of no surprise that she was shortlisted for ‘Best DJ’ in the Music Victoria Awards 2023. Rakhi kicked off a big year at Zeerust Festival followed by an interstate debut in Eora for Kerfew X World Pride, honorary support for Pretty Girl’s sold out Naarm headline show, and an international debut at Kiosk Radio in Brussels. A Rakhi set will likely cover music from every continent, blend unlikely genres, and have you ask “what do you call this?” more than once. Carrying a perceptive ear and compelling ability to command the energy in any room, Rakhi is unstoppable in carving out space for her unique style.

    MV015 Sunshine

    MV015 Sunshine

    MV015 Sunshine

Picture this- A dance floor you don’t want to leave. It’s heaving with an aura infectious to those still waiting out the front of the club. The energy is ablaze with electronic music devotees, smiles on faces and drinks in the air, where everyone unites and rejoices when the aptly named Sunshine graces those coveted decks. With an anthemic groove to hook you back in, the Melbourne DJ, producer and curator of Disco Faith Recordings strings together a renowned slew of nu disco, soulful house, jacking house, progressive house, Detroit techno and driving techno to make you want to get up and go out.

Having taken to the turntables everyday, Sunshine garnered cheeky late night rave slots leading to iconic headline shows and it was evident that Melbourne was perfect for her. With 22 years as a DJ she has truly devoted herself to the house, disco and techno journey, watching Melbourne flock to her dance floor at Revolver Saturdays for the 7am Rise & Shine session every Saturday morning for 19 years, where she’s also played with the likes of Gary Beck, Radio Slave, Seth Troxler and Sven Vath. Sunshine’s residency at Poof Doof since 2012 has also been one for the record books. On the festival circuit, Sunshine has graced us with her radiating dose of hapno (happy house and techno), at Beyond The Valley, Splendour In The Grass, Piknic Electronik and Babylon alongside the likes of international pioneers Gorge, Amelie Lens, Horse Meat Disco and Butch.

In 2016 Sunshine embarked on a different kind of sonic energy. Creating Sunshine and Disco Faith choir, she had a vision to fuse a club-ready DJ set with the uplifting energy of a 12 piece choir, making people rejoice. Selling out shows and welcoming the congregation, she went on to curate Disco Faith Recordings, delivering an energy, disco ambiance and underground hues to have the masses on their feet. In 2021, Sunshine’s ability to adapt and transform as a performer has gone from strength to strength. Whilst many slowed down, Sunshine beamed down on us all. Closing the coveted Sidney Myer Music Bowl for Piknic Electronik in January 2021 and headlining events such as infamous the Untitled day parties, The Breakfast Club, Poof Doof Sydney, Novel Classics and Xe54 plus her usual haunts. Lock in breakfast at Revolver Saturdays or claim a spot at a summer festival with a sneaky dose of dance floor bliss from Sunshine, and your weekend couldn't get any better.
