Principles of Behaviour Modification is one of the courses offered by the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences at Open University Malaysia (OUM). This course is offered to all students taking the Bachelor of Psychology with Honours programme. This module aims to impart the basic principles of behaviour modification and their application in real life.
Episode 1 - Introduction to Behaviour Modification
Episode 1 begins with a discussion on what behaviour is. The historical roots of behaviour modification and characteristics of behaviour modification will also be introduced.
Episode 2 - Scientific Approaches to the Study of Behaviour
Episode 2 introduces the scientific approaches used to define and measure target behaviour. The differences between scientific and non-scientific approaches will be highlighted. Methods used to measure "learning" will also be discussed.
Episode 3 - Theories of Learning
Episode 3 introduces the different types of learning theories: classical conditioning, operant conditioning and social-cognitive learning theories.
Episode 4 - Basic Principles and Techniques of Behaviour Modification
Episode 4 discusses the basic principles and techniques used in behaviour modification.
Episode 5 - Classical and Respondent Conditioning
Episode 5 examines classical conditioning by Ivan Pavlov in detail: its principles, procedures and applications.
Episode 6 - Operant Conditioning
Episode 6 describes operant conditioning by B F Skinner in detail: its principles, procedures and applications.
