Premium Episode 68 - José Vigoa pt. 3, or, Never Do One Last Score, or, the CIA’s Very Honest Account of the Dangers of Cuban Intelligence
[originally published on Patreon Aug 18, 2023]
The heists will continue until morale improves. We finish the story of José Vigoa by following the rest of his heist career. Then we discuss the circumstances surrounding his arrest and imprisonment, the discovery of his Spetsnaz commando background, and some of his purported intelligence activities post-arrest.
This brings us to the topic of Cuban intelligence operations in the US, which in turns requires us to discuss the one source for this story - John Huddy. As it turns out, that's a very interesting story, too.

Premium Episode 67 - José Vigoa pt. 2, or, the World is Yours
[originally published on Patreon Aug 16, 2023]
I discuss how José Vigoa became a drug kingpin in Las Vegas. I get into some of the particulars on why he ran a very unique, specialized operation, and the anomalous way in which he got busted. Then, the heist spree begins, culminating with the Mandalay Bay job.

Premium Episode 66 - Paranoiac Films 9: Michael Mann’s Heat and the Real-Life Neil McCauley, José Vigoa, pt. 1
[originally published on Patreon Aug 10, 2023]
Today I discuss the seminal 1995 film Heat, it's plot, the "dudes rock" factor, and the philosophical themes of the film.
Then I discuss a real-life parallel to the de Niro character from the film. Not the actual real-life Chicago criminal Neil McCauley, but the story of José Vigoa. Vigoa was many things: a Cuban, a commando. a Marielito, a drug kingpin, a family man, and a heist man. There are two more episodes so prepare for some twists and turns.

Premium 65 - Frankists in Franklin and Omaha’s Own Veiled Prophet Ball, the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben, feat. Monty
[originally published on Patreon Jul 28, 2023]
I'm rejoined by Monty (@MontyBaby7) to finish our conversation about the Jesters (and many more things) relating to the Gosch and Franklin cases. We start with a high-level overview of the timeline of the Gosch and Franklin cases.
Then I examined Alan Baer's family history, which is to say, the Brandeis family, who made their fortune through the Brandeis department store. That led us to examine patterns of immigration to Nebraska including Czech Jews which included practicing Frankists. We revisit the Frankists and discuss US Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis.
Note: as of the recording, I had not read The Books of Jacob by Olga Tokarczuk, but since the recording I have read it.
(Monty wanted to add a clarifying note because he felt he may have been unclear or incorrect in discussing the Sabbateans and Frankists: "Sabbateans were in fact Sephardic, while the Frankists seem to be mostly Ashkanazi but some Sephardic as well."
After that, we explore the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben, Omaha's secret society. The Knights are very similar to the Veiled Prophet Ball of St. Louis as well as Mardi Gras Krewes. By all accounts, the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben "aspired to weld together the business and professional men of the city of Omaha and surrounding area into a compact secret society" and appear to have done so successfully.fter that, we explore the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben, Omaha's secret society. Premium 64 - the Royal Order of Jesters and the Johnny Gosch Case, feat. Monty
[originally published on Patreon Jul 20, 2023 and unlocked on free side shortly thereafter; reuploading it due to the narrative continuity with the Freemasonry episodes]
I couldn't help myself; not long after Monty and I did our four-part series on Freemasonry, I came into more information about the Jesters which in some ways unlocked the gates of hell. Content warning for child abuse.
Monty and I discuss the disappearance of Johnny Gosch, a paperboy from West Des Moines, Iowa back in 1982, including the Jester connections. We talk about the case history. We also talk about the mayor George Mills and the police chief Orval Cooney (both Jesters), and Monty walks us through the Des Moines Register as a nexus for fascism and pedophilia. I explain the curious connection of the Gab Line and the phone company.
Monty explains the appearance of Sam Soda as well as Noreen Gosch's claims, and we return to Mills and Cooney. We try to make sense of Gunderson's and Bonacci's claims. All of this led us inexorably back to Omaha.

Premium Episode 63 - Freemasonry 4, or, the Dark Carnival of the Jesters, or, True Detective Season 2 was a Documentary, feat. Monty
[originally published on Patreon Jul 14, 2023]
I'm rejoined by Monty (@MontyBaby7) to conclude (I thought) our conversation on Freemasonry by exploring the Dark Carnival of the Royal Order of Jesters. To set the stage, Monty lays out the history of the Shriners, from which the Jesters are an outgrowth. Then we explore the history of the Jesters, the imagery, the rites and themes, and the evil Billiken egregore.
We explore the strong likelihood of the Jesters being engaged in tax and securities fraud. Then we get a bit out there exploring the Indiana connections to the Jesters and the intelligence community. From that point, Monty and I go through the multiple cases of human trafficking involving the Jesters.
Then we attempt to understand the legacy of Freemasonry through the ages into the 21st century.
