Great podcast!
What I like about this podcast:
What’s great about this podcast is that I can listen to a conversation between two buddies and feel as if I am right there with them. Chris, you have such a great personality and it is very relaxing just listening to you have a conversation with someone. You keep me listening throughout the 30-60+ minutes of every podcast because you are just such a genuine, down to earth person. You care about music, but more importantly, you genuinely care about the people you talk to and the stories they have to tell. You’re passionate, and it shows through and it is honestly such a refreshing thing to listen to in a world that seemingly gets off on hate.
The one thing I love the most about this podcast is that you don’t make this podcast about yourself, but about your guests and THEIR stories and experiences (while sometimes peppering in tidbits about your stories and experiences as well) To be honest, I do not know or care about half of the people you interview in this podcast but I listen to each and every episode regardless because I know that by the end of it, you would have shown me why I should care about that person and the stories they have to tell. I’ve listened to so many great stories throughout this podcast that have really shed a new light on the life of musicians (which has taught me a lot as an aspiring musician myself).
Constructive criticism:
Be consistent in your episode lengths. When you started the podcast you began with episodes that were around 30 minutes in length. Now, you have episodes that range from all the way from 30 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Now, I’m not saying that the 30 minute episodes are bad. What I am saying is that sometimes it’s a bit disappointing when I check my feed and I see a 30-minute episode when I just listened to an episode two weeks ago that was 1 hour and 30 minutes. Sure I’m going to listen to the podcast anyway and have a good time regardless, but consistency should always be the goal of any podcast so the listener can expect to have similar content to what they listened to two weeks ago. I know that what I am pointing out does seem a little bit nitpicky but it is literally the only thing that is “flawed” about this podcast. Whether or not you take this constructive criticism does not really matter, however, because the podcast is just so great and that us listeners are just lucky to have a rockstar take time out of his busy schedule to present something to us and we will listen to the podcast regardless.
