Episode 67 - Joking around with Joann Condon - From Little Britain to Little Boxes.

Episode 67 - Joking around with Joann Condon - From Little Britain to Little Boxes.

This week I had the pleasure of a catch up with an old friend. The lovely Joann Condon!

Many of you may well recognise Jo from her role of 'Pat' in Fat Fighters in 'Little Britain'. Jo has also appeared in everything from 'Shine On Harvey Moon' to 'The Office' to 'Skins'.
I know Jo from a gay play we appeared in many years ago - when we could both still get away with playing teenagers!

We catch up on the decades we've missed and Jo's journey to writing her one woman show 'Little Boxes' - which opens next week as part of the Vaults Festival.
We talk about everything from growing up in the east end, and Jo's path through school to acting, to Boy George, and the influence he had on Jo as a teenager.

We had such a lovely, fun chat and for those of you yet to meet Jo, this is your chance to jump in, grab a a cuppa, and get to know this very genuine and funny lady.

Tickets for Jo's show are available at vaultfestival.com
The show plays from Jan 28th to Feb 6th at 6pm.
Please have a look at the company Jo has set up with Leonie Rachel - Alphamum Productions.

Episode 65 - A Queer Old coffee with Alexandra Meyrick.

Episode 65 - A Queer Old coffee with Alexandra Meyrick.

This week I'm chatting with the fabulous Alexandra Meyrick.

Alexandra (Alex to them who know her)sat down with me a couple of weeks ago to chat all things LGBTQ theatre, her formative years and her coming out process.

We met working on Harry Hancock's project 'Queery' and I immediately warmed to Alex and her sense of humour. She's a damned good actor too!

Alex chats about her time at Italia Conti, taking The Laramie Project to Edinburgh Festival and all her influences - most of whom are also big heroes of mine!
Alex is a lovely human and I think you'll all warm to her as quickly as I did.

Grab a coffee and join us as we chew the cud in Cafe Rouge.

Episode 64 - Nicholas McInerny and the Rainbow Dads Podcast.

Episode 64 - Nicholas McInerny and the Rainbow Dads Podcast.

This week I'm joined by the witty, warm and brilliant Mr Nicholas McInerny.

Nicholas, along with the author David Ledain has put together a compelling set of podcasts where they chat to Gay and Bi men who had already become Dads but then had to come out to family, friends and their own children.
Five men from very different backgrounds and with very different experiences and stories.

I chat to Nicholas about his own coming out story and how he manoeuvred through the ups and downs of coming out later in life.
We talk about his writing for theatre and radio and the influence pop culture has played on his life - Via Bowie and trips to the Burning Man Festival.

I truly have loved listening to the podcasts and urge you, once you have listened to us chat, go over and check out/download/subscribe and rate 'Rainbow Dads'.
I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation as much as I enjoyed recording it!
Its available on all the usual platforms - I listen via Apple Podcast.

The pod is back! Hello and apologies for the delay. All the reasons are mentioned on the podcast so I'm not going to chat on too long here. Just to say thanks for sticking with me!

This week's episode is my first long distance chat in a while with the inimitable Mr Scott Anthony Andrews. Scott is based out of Saskatchewan, Canada and is an extremely talented Pop Jazz Singer Songwriter.

Scott explains the inspiration for the song and the album as a whole.

We discuss his own coming out and the whys and wherefores of how Scott found his path to, and with music.
Scott is warm and charming human and I'm so happy to have had the chance to chat music and life with him recently.
