Essential listening

I am a person who just cannot get enough photography related news, articles and videos; along with books, magazines and meetings with other photographers and like-minded enthusisasts, these are my main source of photographic education. I only recently got into podcasts, very late to the game, as a result of getting a new job that has me at a desk and laptop for several hours of the day, so podcasts have become an essential part of my day and Ben's is definitely my favourite. I now consider it just behind the photobook as one of the most important insights and resources for photogrpahers. For those of us who can't afford to attend workshops, it is the next best thing, and Ben appears to share my taste and inclicnation towards the documentary / reportage / street side of the trade (other podcasts I've come accross tend to veer towards interviewing comercial, celebrity and sports photographers often), so his guests are generally those I would also have on my wishlist to meet and chat with. My only complaint being that I have already exhausted the catalouge of episodes and have resorted to re-listening to some of my favourites. Good news, new ep airing tomorrow! Happy days.

Thanks, and keep up the great work Ben!

An absolute must for anyone in photography.

This is a gem

Ben Smith, London photographer, chats to other photographers, some well known others less so about how they got this far and how they manage things. It’s not hurried but not indulgent either, something to savour. Joe Boyd’s speaking manner came to mind. I liked the way Smith chips in only when he has good reason to, but when that it the case he’s nothing to be apologetic for. Really hoping this continues.
