Wounds 2 Wisdom – Division with the Institution with Tyeisha Banks
Join us as Ms. Tyeisha Banks share her story of taking the leap of faith into entrepreneurship. Tyisha shares how much happier of a person she is now that she works for herself, she expresses that her mental health and wellness wasn’t worth being compromised any longer. She made took a leap of faith, to start her own and go after the destiny she desired.
Tyeisha’s testimony hits different from when we recorded this episode, I was working in higher education in which my institution was going through a re-organization, all employees had to re-apply for the new roles that were created. I applied for three position; I was offered 2 of the 3 position which would have been 10k-20k salary increase. However I was in a unique situation - I had a choice now. Leading up to the re-org I was depressed and stressed out I didn’t feel appreciated or valued. I had started planning my exit strategy long before the companies re-org.
With re-organization if you weren’t offered or if you didn’t accept a new position you were let go and offered a severance package. A little over a month ago I made the decision to leave, my job of almost seven years to start my master program in Clinical Mental Health and Counseling and to pour more time into Golden BLK my candle company, feel so free and liberated.
Get ready to dive into Tyieisha’s journey of her pivot from working in Higher Education to being a full time Entrepreneur.
