Love and life is not a fairy tale, and that's okay!

    Episode 48: The Minnesotan Goodbye

    Episode 48: The Minnesotan Goodbye

There's an expectation here in Minnesota and I’m sure in other states, that when you are leaving a social gathering, that the first "goodbye" is not the last. Usually, it takes about 20 additional minutes to get out of the door. This phenomenon is called "The Minnesota Goodbye". It's akin to, "no, you hang up".  It is with that notion in mind that Tamu & Mallory have decided to say "goodbye" to Bad at Love Podcast.
In this final episode, they talk about the cost of being single with the help of Anne Helen Petersen’s Vox article, “The Escalating Cost of Being Single in America”. Tamu gets verklempt talking about the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That. Finally, they determine if they are still Bad at Love. The answer? Probably.
Moral to the Story: TTFN! (Ta Ta For Now) We are so very grateful for the friends we have made along the way and thankful to all of those who have listened to our snorts and rants these past three years.

    Episode 47: Sexy Beasts

If anything could bring us out of the grimness that is 2021 and back to the mics, it has to be Netflix’s new “dating show”, “Sexy Beasts.” We watch all six episodes so you NEVER have to.

Moral to the Story: This is a Sophie's Choice of dating for thin, fit, hot people. You may have chosen the hot Beaver, but what if the hot Manatee was even hotter?!

Besides trying to survive this hell scape, what have we been up to since September?

Mallory is becoming a gaming diva on Twitch. Help grow her community! Like, subscribe, watch, and share with your friends.

    Episode 46: Daily Mental Breakdowns

    Episode 46: Daily Mental Breakdowns

Let's face it, it has been a pretty crap week for women. Mallory and Tamu talk about the travesty that was the indictment of the police officer who shot through Breonna Taylor's walls, but not for shooting her. They also touch on a little tiny news story about women on the verge of losing all of their reproductive rights with the new conservative Supreme Court. No biggie, right?!

Moral to the Story: *sigh* History is repeating itself people, we have to come together and fight as one.

If you do nothing, you are being passively racist.
What about white folks? Racism dehumanizes white folks, once they realizing they are losing their humanity, they will stop dehumanizing BIPOC.
On cancel culture: some things need to be cancelled. Itis a step forward towards accountability.
How to deal with loved ones who might see things differently: live life where your values align. To be in relation with people whose values don't align can be done up to a point.

Episode 44: An Unrequited Love Affair with America

Episode 44: An Unrequited Love Affair with America

This week, well, really two weeks ago, Tamu and Mallory discussed Black America's unrequited love affair with the rest of America. Mallory was also having a tough time dealing with the world that week; Jacob Blake's shooting left her feeling hopeless. While Tamu was dismayed and truly disgusted by the naturalization stunt the RNC decided to portray on TV, hope was on the horizon because Doc Rivers made her dad decide register to vote for the first time in his life.

Moral to the Story: If Tamu's dad is pissed off enough to vote, we all should be pissed off enough to vote!

So Tired of Having this be a Moral to the Story: Arrest the police officers who murdered Breonna Taylor!

    Other Fun Topics Discussed:

Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom's new baby, Daisy Dove.
    The shooting of Jacob Blake.
    White Supremacy's newest teen murderer.
    Mistaken suicide rioting in Minneapolis.
All Hail Sports: WNBA, NBA, MLB, NHL and Naomi Osaka boycotting for Black Lives Matter.
    Tone deaf Jared.
Blacks and their unrequited love of America: As Doc Rivers eloquently stated, " It's amazing why we keep loving this country and this country does not love us back."
The unmitigated gall of Daniel Cameron, Kentucky's Attorney General, preening for the cameras at the RNC and using Breonna's name as a talking point instead of bringing justice to Breonna.

    Episode 43: Never-Ending Battles

    Episode 43: Never-Ending Battles

This week Tamu and Mallory discuss the aftermath of Mallory's Saturday night "The Postman" live Tweet event and her bringing this terrible, yet timely film back to life. Tamu wrestles with work microaggressions and coming to terms with not making excuses for feeling how she feels about racism. In Kentucky, the cops who murdered Breonna Taylor probably had a BBQ instead of prison food--AGAIN!
Moral to the Story: Believe Black women. Support Black women. Protect Black Women.
Never-ending Very Special Moral to the Story: Arrest the police officers who murdered Breonna Taylor!
    Other Fun Topics Discussed:

Megan Thee Stallion protecting the man who shot her while he throws her under the bus.
Iowa's land hurricane, a.k.a., derecho and the time Tamu and Mallory think they were caught in one.
Bidets: get one for COVID Wave 2
Bad at Love has a theory: Racism would still exist if your wiped everyone's memory like Men in Black.
