BRCA Gene and Cancer Detection with Kashif Khan

The DNA Talks Podcast

Last week, we learned about ways to detect cancer during its early stages, but what is the reality that we face today that proves that taking the test is of utmost importance?

Join us as in today's episode Kashif Khan dives into the reasons why we are facing the unusual increase in cancer in young people, and debunking some of the usual misconceptions on what causes cancer. One of these is the misconception on the BRCA gene which is actually a tumor suppressor instead of what it is known as: the breast cancer gene.

Kashif also delves into the commonly proposed solutions, explaining how these actually affect the body. This includes the removal of breast fat and fallopian tubes, the intake of birth control pills and other methods of hormone replacement therapy.
