COMBAT FILES | EPISODE #9 | FEAT. TIM FOSTER

COMBAT FILES | EPISODE #9 | FEAT. TIM FOSTER

Welcome to the Combat Files - Episode 9!

It was one of the most enjoyable and memorable podcast interviews I have done so far.

Tim Foster is a bullish, but, brilliantly inspiring entrepreneur & the co-founder of the Yummy Pub Co. He describes himself as the “Leader of a band of misfits. The old git of Yummy”.

What I loved about our brief time together was his humour, his ability to make people laugh & at the same time he can be mistaken as lacking empathy because of this straight talking style. At times he wears his heart on his sleeve & that was very evident in the viral Linkedin post he posted on that early cold March morning.

But to understand Tim & his emotions, I had to dig deep into his past & ask some trying and testing questions. Equally, his courage & bravery to be vulnerable & openly share made my job a lot easier.

The discussion primarily revolved around his father, his relationship with him as his oldest son and the impact of the event that unfolded when Tim was a 15 year old boy. Witnessing his father decline and eventual demise was an enormously hard thing to watch. At such a tender age, he took ownership of looking after his younger brother and mother’s safety, actually speaking volumes about the man. His relationship catapulted from his father being his hero to hating his dad.

Yet, when you speak to him and get under his skin, you will find a deeply caring, kind and generous human being. His self-awareness, emotional intelligence and drive to focus on saving his business was not only about saving what they built. But, it was about saving the livelihood of his staff and his family. His tremendous desire to leave a recorded legacy for his children and for them to be proud of their Dad was telling.

He is one the most inspiring and motivating men I have spoken to for a long time and very much hope this 9th Combat File podcast interview does justice to the man himself.

With his approval, I dedicate this podcast in memory to his Dad, Graham Foster.

COMBAT FILES | EPISODE #8 | FEAT LAURENT KABBABE

COMBAT FILES | EPISODE #8 | FEAT LAURENT KABBABE

Welcome to the Combat Files - Episode 8!

It was an absolute honour and great fun to have this week's guest on the next episode of Combat Files. His undeniable determination and focus is enormously inspiring. Laurent Kabbabe, former CFO Brazil & South American, Louis Vuitton began life in a war zone in Lebenon.

We spoke what was like living there and the reasons for leaving his comfort zone, his home.

The next 24 years was an epic struggle to survive and thrive leading to him across four continents. Eventually, he rose, by climbing the corporate ladder with Louis Vuitton amongst others and found himself heading up the finance team at LV, South America.

We explored his reasons for leaving LV and the direction his new life is now taking him. His quest is to help others to discover a “better version” of themselves. He revealed what he learnt and how he

put that information into a disciplined programme. In our 121 coaching session, I experienced the course first hand and the impact it had on me which we discuss in some details in the podcast.

I love his courage and vulnerability, his openness to share his fears, his inactions and his debilitating procrastination. We delved into what steps he took to overcoming them. He discussed his journey of creation that has revealed new opportunities for him to pursue and to use the resources at his disposal to be able to carve out the next chapter of his life.

I hope you can join me in welcoming Laurent and have an opportunity to listen to his insightful story.
