Kate and Bodhi created Expressive Wellness, a business dedicated to creating wellness groups, retreats, and continuing education for healthcare professionals and organizations. They share their journey to creating an arts-based collaborative business as well as tips for other therapists looking to connect to other creative arts therapists outside of their modality.     Kate is a Board Certified Music Therapist and the owner of Maine Music & Health, which provides music therapy services and education. Kate is a percussionist who performs in a number of musical groups. 







    Bodhi is a Registered Art Therapist with a private practice in Waterville, Maine called Conscious Art Therapy. Bodhi and Kate are co-creators of Expressive Wellness Workshops, Trainings, & Retreats.

    In this episode, Molly talks with us about how music therapy can support survivors of trauma. She shares about her person-centered and humanistic approach, as well as how her approach is informed by the neurological sciences. She shares specific interventions ideas and walks us through the "6 R's of regulation" - a phenomenal support for any therapist looking to support regulation for any child in the therapy room.     Molly Warren, MM, LPMT, MT-BC, Licensed Professional Music Therapist, received her Masters degree in Music Therapy from Colorado State University. She also has experience working at a flagship residential treatment facility were she was trained in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and relational therapy, specifically working with individuals with trauma and neglect backgrounds. She additionally has experience working in an acute psychiatric facility where she worked with adult, adolescent, and pediatric general mental health populations. She currently works in Reno, NV in her own private practice, Olive Branch Therapeutic Services, where she primarily works with individuals with complex/developmental trauma and attachment disorders.  She often collaborates with Victims of Crime programs and the Sexual Assault Response Team in providing music therapy for victims of intimate violence in the Reno/Tahoe area.  Her philosophy is to introduce novel and authentic modalities to best reach the needs of her clients to create a genuine, safe, and individualized experience.

    In this episode, Robyn talks with us about how art therapy can support children with anxiety, depression, anger, and issues of self-esteem. Her passion about supporting children through creativity is immense and she shares about her experiences as an art therapist working with children of many ages. She discusses one of her speciality creations, "Paint it out boxing" and talks about her recent publication in a book about supporting children of divorced parents. Take a listen and enjoy!







    Robyn has been working with children, adolescents and young adults for over a decade in schools, counseling programs and hospitals. She has her educational background in Mental Health Counseling (2006) as well as Clinical Art Therapy (2008) and has studied play and sand-tray therapy techniques. Robyn started Paint the Stars with the goal of helping children feel better by getting in touch with their creative side. Robyn has previously worked on Pediatric Units in hospitals, special needs chronic hospitalization clients, she has created and ran various Children and Adolescent Mental Health programming and she is also an adjunct professor. She also creates her own artwork while spending time with her family. Robyn specializes in children suffering from anxiety, depression, anger issues, school/peer/family related issues as well as food and sensory issues. She recently published a chapter (Resilience of Youth Overcoming Divorce Related Stressors) in the book, “Art Therapy Practices for Resilient Youth.” Robyn and Paint the Stars have been nominated three times for the Best Kids Docs Nominations through New Jersey Family Magazine, 2016, 2019 and 2020. Her passion has always been helping children and creating art and she considers herself lucky to have a career doing both.

    Mariagracia Rivas Berger, MT-BC, also known as MG, was born and raised in Lima, Peru (#bilingual!) and currently lives in Northern Virginia. Mariagracia received her undergraduate in Vocal Performance and received her graduate Music Therapy studies from Shenandoah University. Mariagracia currently works in the Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders at Children’s National in Washington, DC. In her 3 years there, she expanded the program to add a second music therapist and is leading the hospital’s first music therapy study, which is focusing on the pain and emotional wellbeing of adolescents and young adults with Sickle Cell Disease.
