Ranae is a writer, activist and mother living in Dublin with her wife and two young daughters. At the age of 16 she developed an eating disorder and has been living with it for almost two decades.

Ranae speaks to people who have had first hand experience with eating disorders and disordered eating in a series of open conversations.

She spoke to me about her dad who sadly passed away last year and her hope that going forwards, others will not have to suffer in silence like he did.

He has suffered from a variety of mental illnesses beginning when he was a child and into his adult life.  Michael suffered from an eating disorder known as muscle dysmorphia or bigorexia, though he was never formally diagnosed.
