#7: Growing a Creative Agency as a couple | Ashley Phillips & Miro LaFlaga (@sixcinquieme)

In this episode Ashley Phillips and Miro LaFlaga join the show to talk about their creative journey. The couple started a creative agency years ago and we unravel the start and the steps it took to create Six Cinquieme (@sixcinquieme). Their character traits make a great combination as well as the foundation of their relationship. As a couple they have been able to grow the agency in numbers as well as exposure. They’ve been on an episode of The Futur, probably the biggest creative agency on social media, lead by Chris Do. We talk about how they got that interview and what social skills are helpful for such situations. Ash & Miro are community driven, they always want to give something back. They create workshops for students to help them with their journey and the struggles they face. Ash & Miro share their failures and roadblocks to show it’s a normal path if you want to create growth and better yourself. All in all a packed episode with two of the most stylistic people I know. #5 - Answering your questions!

    #5 - Answering your questions!

What are tips for people starting out in UX Design? How can you speed up your design process? What F1 race would you watch live?
    --
A  lot of different questions. This episode is full of it. Last few weeks  you were able to send in questions for me to answer. There was a lot of  variety in the types of questions, but I was able to segment them in a  few different categories. I also do some recommendations during the  episode and those are all listed in the description, in case you're  interested.

The giveaway is at the end. Thank you if you follow  along and was kind enough to write down a question. It's much  appreciated! The winner also got a DM to receive his prize.

    #3: Coaching & Mentoring as a designer - With Helena Bukovac (@buttondujour)

    #3: Coaching & Mentoring as a designer - With Helena Bukovac (@buttondujour)

Welcome back! It's been a while but I'm happy to resume the Empathy Explorers podcast with a new episode. Helena Bukovac joins the conversation as we discuss topics that involve coaching and mentoring, business conferences, the importance of a passion project and much more. Helena lives in Croatia and is a teacher at Algebra University, coaches students on Springboard and Design Lab, while also working at an agency (Emondo). How she is able to manage all that, is one of the first questions that popped up. I share a stigma I have around business conferences and I hope Helena is able to counter that. She also shares her knowledge on 'learning and adapting' and gives an insight in why she started her Instagram as Buttondujour. Enjoy the episode!

The question of this episode from our guest is:

What is your passion project and why aren't you doing it?

Please let us know what you thought about the episode, it would mean a lot to us! You can also use #empathyexplorers to find al the valuable information in one spot and start a discussion there.

You can find Helena on Instagram @buttondujour where she shares valuable insights and the design systems she mentions.
