When you're coming in to get fitted for your hearing aid the first time it is always best to bring someone close to you. It could be a family member, spouse or even a friend. The reason why is when you are getting fitted there is going to be a lot of information thrown at you that you might not remember initially. 
 
We are always here to answer any questions you may have after the fitting but we recommend a second person at the appointment that also can help you remember some crucial information. You're going to learn how to operate your device, how to put it on, etc. Not only that, but you're going to start to hear soft sounds that you might not be used to initially and this might overwhelm you at first. 
So when you schedule your fitting bring that special someone and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

The big question I get asked is can I inherit hearing loss from my family? In other words, is hearing loss Genetic? The short answer is YES. The National Institute of Health says that 1 out of every 1,000 babies inherits their parents hearing loss. But not all is lost, the best thing to do is to try and catch the hearing loss early. If you see any signs that your child experiencing hearing loss please feel free to bring them in for a hearing test and we can get to the bottom of the situation.
