The Pac-12 gets cleared to play ASAP; will Louisville and Kentucky be able to figure out a way to play each other in 2020?

Welcome back, Pac-12. On Thursday, the presidents and chancellors in the conference voted to allow hoops to return on the proper timetable so that all the teams will be playing with the rest of college basketball (save the Ivy League) when the season starts. The pod opens up with a discussion on that, then Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander split open some of the deeper issues with nonconference scheduling and why Thursday’s Pac-12 vote plays a big factor. The guys also discuss the expected reveal on Friday of initial COVID-19 guidelines (21:00) for basketball, which also will have a significant impact on what games we will or won’t get in November and December. The final third of the pod focuses on Kentucky (36:00) and its alumni just going off in the NBA bubble. Plus: Chris Mack can’t yet confirm Louisville will play, or host, Kentucky this year. Will arguably the best rivalry in college hoops go on a one-year hiatus?

NBA Draft Profiles: On the heels of a historically bad UNC season, Cole Anthony is fighting for top-10-pick status

Happy Tuesday, everybody. College hoops will have no shortage of news later this week, so be on the lookout for another podcast in a couple of days. But before that, we continue with our NBA Draft profiles, focusing on one-and-done UNC point guard Cole Anthony. His stock was in the top-five range a year ago. Now he's reasonably somewhere between No. 12 and No. 18 in the eyes of many. His case is interesting; Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander evaluate the mercurial talent.

The NCAA decides Nov. 25 will be the start date for college basketball's season; here's how we got here

The NCAA decides Nov. 25 will be the start date for college basketball's season; here's how we got here

On Wednesday, the NCAA's Division I Council approved a Nov. 25 start date. That's a good thing ... with some drawbacks. Good to have a date, bad for MTE events like the Maui Invitation which will now have to move around that date and create schedule chaos as a result. But there's a lot of positivity to get to! Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander have everything you need to know about this -- plus a look at the historic vote that came to be on Wednesday as well.

'All Things Covered' with Patrick Peterson & Bryant McFadden' debuts on Tuesday, September 22nd with special guest Tyrann Mathieu. Download and subscribe now to get the first episode in your feed as soon as it is released!
Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden have made a living for their coverage skills on the football field, and while it's a different technique, they're now applying those traits on their new podcast 'All Things Covered'. Instead of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, they'll be covering sports, entertainment, social issues, personal interests and more. Every Tuesday, the 8-time Pro Bowler Peterson and 2-time Super Bowl champion McFadden will discuss what's happening on the gridiron as well as what intrigues them off the field. Each week they'll welcome a star from the sports and entertainment world to have wide-ranging conversations about what interests them. Guests can include active or former football players but also athletes and influencers from other sports and walks of life. Football is how we know our hosts, but far from what defines Pat and BMac. The name says everything; expect all things to be covered!

NBA Draft Profiles: The reasons why Isaac Okoro reminds us Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard when they were drafted

NBA Draft Profiles: The reasons why Isaac Okoro reminds us Jimmy Butler, Kawhi Leonard when they were drafted

News: the NBA Draft's initial target date of Oct. 16 will be pushed back, with the new target being Nov. 18. That in mind, our Draft Profiles series continues with a player who could go as high as No. 4 or as low as No. 11: Auburn freshman Isaac Okoro. If you look at what Okoro does well right now and compare it to what Kawhi Leonard did well a decade ago, it's fairly surprising. We don't think Okoro will be a Finals MVP one day, but we do think his ceiling is what's going to get him drafted high.

ACC coaches are going to propose that every team in college basketball plays in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Thanks: WE HATE IT.

ACC coaches are going to propose that every team in college basketball plays in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Thanks: WE HATE IT.

On Wednesday morning an outrageous headline came in: ACC coaches agreed on a conference call to propose to the NCAA an all-inclusive 2021 tournament. Everybody into the pool. Uh, what? Is this even possible? It's not practical. The pod leads with Parrish and Norlander picking this plan apart, then getting to Norlander's story from Tuesday that revealed how dozens of teams could be playing in a bubble in Connecticut in December. This ep wraps with a quick thought on Billy Donovan being on the coaching market and whether he'll make his way back to college hoops. What's the percentage on that right now?
