Feeling the pressure of when your parents want grandchildren The Fertility Warriors

    • Alternative Health

I remember when we were trying to conceive... but before anyone knew anything about our journey, and my father looking at me square in the eyes and telling me that if we couldn't have children, we should just adopt.

We'd been together for YEARS before we got married and several years after that before we had tried to have children. I don't know if it was just an off the cuff remark or whether deep down my father suspected that we were having trouble conceiving.

But nonetheless, I felt this deep pressure to deliver grandchildren, over and above the desires and the wishes that I also had.

Can you relate?
Do you feel like a big portion of your life is lived spent trying to please your parents?
Do you feel like sometimes there's things that you want in your life, that are maybe a bit risky or different to what you think they'd approve of, and that you're possibly playing life safely as a result?

Learn about my process of unlearning and separating myself and my wants and desires from that of what I believed my parents wanted in this week's podcast.
