How to plan the perfect wedding on the Côte d'Azur

How to plan the perfect wedding on the Côte d'Azur

How to plan the perfect wedding on the Côte d'Azur Organise a wedding South of France. Many people dream of having a beautiful Provençal or Côte d'Azur event with a lavender field backdrop or views over the Mediterranean sea. That dream can become a reality with the right experts on hand to help you.
Today we chat with guests who have worked in event organisation planning weddings, organising huge events, setting up the lights and music, designing the look and feel and flower arrangements as well as the all important photographs and gifts.
Thanks so much to our guests Danni Wing (Native Spaces) , Nick Boot (Wild Fire DJs) , Abbi Kemp , Lisa Boot (Une Pincée de Provence)  and Claire Lyons (Dandelions and Grace) for their input.

    WE TALK WITH:
    Danielle Wing Native Spaces
Hello, I'm Danni. I have been living on the French Riviera for the last ten years and have been working as a freelance event professional for the last eight. I have organised everything from weddings to corporate events to birthday parties, photoshoots and all in between. Recently I have started working with a fantastic start up based in Nice called Native Spaces. Native Spaces is a platform that connects clients with a whole of host of unique and extraordinary event spaces across the Riviera and beyond. Via the platform you can choose your venue, converse with the host directly, receive a quote and pay securely.

    Nick Boot Wild Fire DJs

I moved to the South of France with my wife and then baby boy 6 years ago as we wanted a new adventure as well as a lot more sunshine than we were getting in London! I set up Wildfire DJs (or UK DJs Abroad as it was then) at the same time. The aim was to provide a premium DJ, sound and lighting service to couples coming from abroad, predominantly the UK, to marry here in France. People pay an awful lot for their wedding, especially in this region, and I think it's a crime for the day to end with a party that doesn't absolutely blow the roof off. We ensure that the wedding day of each of our clients is remembered as the best party that they and their guests have attended. We provide the speakers and lighting plus organise all the music from the ceremony to the last song of the night. We make the process not only simple but fun and enjoyable too.

Photography has been my passion for 15 years and I've been lucky enough to capture weddings all over the world for 9 years now. My work aims to capture the real and genuine moments of a wedding day through honest yet beautiful photography.

Claire Lyons - Dandelions & Grace
I moved to the French Riviera over 18 years ago after finishing a degree in International Business and French! Floristry has always been a passion of mine from a young age and when the opportunity arose to train professionally I jumped at the chance. My floral business - Dandelions & Grace was founded and I create bespoke floral arrangements for weddings, events and yachts from the cote d'azure to Provence. My floristry style is both organic and romantic, growing up in the English countryside has no doubt influenced this!

Book Circles move reading into action

Personal growth through books, managing the inner critic,  limiting beliefs and mindset  are all on the podcast this week with our guest Theresa Destrebecq.
Personal growth through books, managing the inner critic,  limiting beliefs and mindset  are all on the podcast this week with our guest Theresa Destrebecq.
We are still in the pandemic and in France we have just gone into another lockdown. For many 2020 was a hard year health and diet wise as gyms shut, restaurants closed and socialising was seriously curbed. Series 6: Get our French Economy boosted #staylocal #buylocal #supportlocal #cotedazurfrance. Welcome to the Riviera Firefly podcast sponsored by KidooLand your childcare solution for safe summer fun, Playgroup Kindergarten and Forest school .
WE TALK WITH THERESA DESTREBECQ I like to ask my guests about their purpose, here’s what our next guest said:
Do you know how sometimes people read books to make a change or become better at something, like leadership, or meditation, or productivity? But then when you ask them 6 months later how things are going, and nothing has changed?
Now if that resonates with you listen in. Theresa Destrebecq is a Coach, Educator, an advocator of self acceptance and more recently the founder of Emerge Book Circles.
Now if you are into books be them real or audio, maybe you have, like me, many on the go, a pile of books but then can’t remember once you’ve moved on ?
Well I definitely can tick that box .. I used to be in a fun fiction in person group .. after many years I left and did actually try and start my own business book group but I don’t think we got past 2, I was stretching myself too thin to set it up, so my interest was piques when I saw Theresa’s post proposing an alternative way of doing it.
I was craving a bit of deep dive and direction and connection and much as I love my own Business Coach, because they are based in the US time zones I am never at my best as its late at night .. so this group was ticking the boxes.
Theresa and I had already met a couple of times in KidooLand , at a PWN conference where she was a speaker and so I decided to give the book circle a go.
For a while now I’ve been joining her group for  great thought provoking conversation and activities .. which have also as a by product given me a  constant both personally and professionally through this pandemic. Kind of linked to self growth and personal improvement but also practical things that I can actually do with my own family.
We chat about the need to create more permission for imperfection, limiting beliefs and mindset and of course around how her book circles work and why they are so powerful both professionally but also personally.
So listen in to find out about the novel way of reading a book if you excuse the pun!
    Lets roll!

Making a difference | Pilates | Travelling the world feat. Mel Burch

Making a difference | Pilates | Travelling the world feat. Mel Burch We are still in the pandemic and in France we have just gone into another lockdown.
    WE TALK WITH MEL BURCH
Up next we have Mel Burch .. from Live Breathe Pilates and Health
Back in April our chat with friend Lucy Kelly one of our local nutritionists popped up on the podcast socials and Mel spotted it and having had a listen messaged
I am currently training to be a health coach so will be looking for nutrition therapists such as you to team up with when I get qualified (at the end of the year hopefully)!
So she deepened a connection from Lucy’s podcast.
She added that our chat about kefir water resonated and I am a huge fan too - with ginger and lemon like Susie! and the body brushing too! Thanks for putting this out, and I look forward to the next one
Having listened to that and also having discovered podcasts during the pandemic she then reached out and said she had a story to share.
So I was delighted firstly that she had listened and taken the time to write in but also that she wanted to share her rather magnificent adventure and journey to Pilates with us all.
We always try and get a good read of watch recommendation and Mel has a podcast and book for us (you’ll hear I wasn’t able to recall at all the documentary I just watched, lucky for me I get to add it here: Kiss The Ground, it’s a must watch if health nutrition organic ring any of your bells).
The Firefly podcasts are all about you getting to know the people behind the local businesses; it’s all part of our support local series as we get ready to hopefully open up again.
I would like you to join us in a pledge to commit to a 1 in 5 local pledge. So for every purchase or support you give to the large corporations you make 1 in 5 of them local.
Now I know some wallets are stretched so if you can’t buy right now then get on their socials just like Mel did and give them a huge shout out and help get their word out there so that they can be in front of people who can help them financially through the next period.
As Mel said you only have to adjust the compass a few degrees to make a big difference. Each and every one of you counts. Let’s roll.

WE TALK WITH LUCY GRAY  Top Book: The Alchemist

    Top Netflix: Kiss the Ground

Top business tip: Network your socks off!

Your core purpose: To help others achieve a healthy body and mind for them to lead the happiest life possible.

My business: I provide private and group yoga sessions across the cote d'azur and online. My private yoga classes are adapted to suit the needs of each individual.  My approach is more scientific rather than spiritual. I am constantly studying to improve my knowledge. My group classes will vary, depending on how the class is “labelled’. In my power core class, expect a workout, and in my gentle yoga, you can expect to feel relaxed, fluid and rejuvenate! I believe a good variety of physical activity is key to optimal health. But most of all, conscious breathing is paramount!
