IADD Die-Verse Talks International Association of Diecutting and Diemaking

Co-hosts Gino Gualtieri of Central Die Supplies Inc. and Austin Murray of Stafford Cutting Dies, Inc. are joined by Eddie Mucci Jr. of National Steel Rule Co., Dan Johnson of Jonco Die Co. Inc. and Darrel Griffin of Stafford Cutting Dies, Inc. for a roundtable discussion. The three IADD Past Presidents share their personal experiences with IADD’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Clint Medlock. Through years of personal stories, career lessons and IADD history, the group highlights the impact Medlock has had on their lives, both professionally and personally.

Jenny Holliday became the CEO of IADD in June 2021 yet has been an integral part of the staff since 2011. Jenny shares with co-hosts Gino Gualtieri of Central Die Supplies and Lisa Boyd of Wagner Die Supply the schooling, unique experiences and especially the relationships she’s built at IADD the past nine years that have shaped her into the leader she is today.

Rob Weidhass, President of My Press Needs, LLC, has been surrounded by the diecutting industry since he was a child, getting his first exposure by picking up a broom in his father’s diecutting shop. Rob speaks with co-hosts Gino Gualtieri of Central Die Supplies and Lisa Boyd of Wagner Die Supply to discuss is machinist and mechanic background and how these attributes helped him create a successful company that sells a diecutting resource that is used around the world.

Brendan Tumilty, Managing Director of Truform Laser Dies Ltd. in Ireland, joins co-hosts Gino Gualtieri of Central Die Supplies and Lisa Boyd of Wagner Die Supply to share some interesting stories and events that have shaped his time in the diemaking industry. Joining his parents’ dieshop from a young age, along with his brother Ronen, Brendan was basically born and raised to be a diemaker. Gino Gualtieri of Central Die Supplies and Austin Murray of Stafford Cutting Dies discuss with Mark Batson Baril of Resologics. Mark’s professional career started off in the family diecutting business, so he got an early start dealing with various types of challenges and opportunities in our industry. He joined and became an important part of the IADD’s progression, notably, but among many other things, creating the TechTeam concept which has been an integral service offered by the IADD ever since. Currently, Mark has taken a turn into mediation and “ombudsing,” the interesting areas of helping people and companies, deal with or avoid conflict.

Brent Singer, Technical Services Manager of Metsä Board Singapore Pte. Ltd, shares the highlights—and lowlights!—of his 43 years in the diemaking and diecutting industry. Brent is committed to making “every day a learning day” and discusses with co-hosts Gino Gualtieri and Austin Murray the importance of sharing knowledge, being ambitious and developing relationships.
